I just watched the trailer for the series Bitten, which i think is coming out in january. I'm really excited as its one of my fav paranormal reads. I just wondered what other people thought? Itd does look a tad under budget, but the point is they made it lol

I've seen it too. It looks decent. It's going to be on SYFY channel in the US. They did a good job with Lost Girl so hopefully the production value will be similar.
Oohhh, I can't wait for this. It's actually the first book series I love turned into a show. I love True Blood and The Vampire diaries, but didn't like the Sookie books that much, and haven't read Vamp diaries at all.
What book series is this based on?
Marta wrote: "What book series is this based on?"Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series
. I wonder if they will include the other ladies from this world also?
As soon as I saw this thread, I rushed home to watch the trailer. And, WOW!! I can't wait!!I am a huge fan of Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series.!! One of my top PR series of all time. From all appearances they are doing well so far in following the first book. Elena is perfect, not too sure about Jeremy or Clay yet. I will have to wait and see.
Carolyn F. wrote: "I'm excited, this book is great. I wonder who they are going to get to play Clayton."they get Greyston Holt playing him, there is already a imdb page :) sadly the trailer isnt on there, its on you tube though.

see watching the trailer im not to sure about elana lol :p its interesting when different people are questioning people
Hi Tracy, trust me , I was very concerned, until I realized it was Laura VanderVoort. I thought she was a really good actress in V. I'm not to sure about Jeremy though.
Cannot wait for this TV show ! YAYA! According to IMDB they are making 13 episodes. I would imagine each season would be the next book in the series?
Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) wrote: "Ooo thanks for the reminder Paganalexandria, I would have forgotten to record it!"You're welcome, I saw it somewhere else and had to spread the word. I hope it's good. *Crossing fingers*
Just watched the first episode. We get introduced to most of the characters. The tension between Clayton and Elena is going to be awesome ! Can't wait for the next episode.
LOL, I figured it must be something like that. I have it all set to record and I am excited about it. I haven't even read the books yet but I have them and have heard a lot about them.I wonder if I should read the first book before watching it? For those of you that have read it, do you think that is a good idea or not?
I read the Witches of East End books first and I didn't care for the tv series at all I think because of it. And I have never read the Vampire Diaries books because I love the tv series and am afraid that if I read them it will ruin the books since I heard they are so different from the show.
At least with a movie you know you will get something similar to the books.
I would watch the season first than read the books. That way you can enjoy the show without expecting more out of it incase they leave something you liked out. It looks like they are following the first book pretty well so far but its only been the first episode. Also if you read the books afterwards and find something new that wasnt in the show it will feel like something "extra"

I personally prefer to go in blind for TV shows and movies based on books for that reason. Your Vampire Diaries theory is kind of why I won't read the Fire and Ice books. I love Game of Thrones and love being spoiler free.
I was kind of thinking the same thing. Thank you two! I think I will wait on the books and just watch the show for now. :)
Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) wrote: "I was kind of thinking the same thing. Thank you two! I think I will wait on the books and just watch the show for now. :)"Can't wait for Tuesday, so we can all give our thoughts. :)
so i watched the first episode just now, and honestly, im not sure about it. Clay is my fav in the books and hes not how i picture him at all. its only the first one so hoping it gets more good :P
i just watched the premiere and seriously had knots in my stomach praying they didnt screw it all up! lol im pretty surprised that i actually enjoyed it. definitely not the actors i would have cast though. clayton is waaaaaay hotter than that guy! but whatevs he'll grow on me i guess. stonehaven is exactly how i pictured it though. im excited to see the season play out
So far, I think the show has promise. The first episode was a little slow, but I think it will be pick with Elena in Bear Valley. It isn't following the book exactly, so far, that doesn't bother me too much. I haven't seen enough of the werewolves, to know if I like the actors yet. I do miss Clay's accent though. Laura is doing a great job as Elena. She is really the only character that I've seen enough of to comment on at this point.
I am really glad that the shifting to wolf and the wolves themselves don't look like some really bad B horror movie. That was done much better than I thought it would.
Can't wait for next week. I think we will learn more then. I wonder how many people gave up on the first episode because it was so slow and uneventful. Those who read the books know it will pick up now. I guess we will see.
I'm not sold...Like I'm feeling if I don't see another episode I will be okay but I'm going to give it another go next. Maybe I should read the books.
I thought the casting for Elena was spot on. Clay- okay. Jeremy- a little disappointed. Everyone else: we will see.Thought the CGI for the wolves could have been better.
I didn't love it and didn't hate it, so we will see.
I agree with Rachel - Goodbye boarders on the casting. There were good CGI moments and bad ones.In terms of the actual episode. It has promise, it covered the section of the book. It didn't get very far and like the books it isn't moving very quickly. But as all of us know who have read the book it picks up and then we can really figure out how we feel about it.
Danielle Cause I'm the Book Boss wrote: "I'm not sold...Like I'm feeling if I don't see another episode I will be okay but I'm going to give it another go next. Maybe I should read the books."Danielle, me too. There were hits and complete misses.
The Hits:
1. The girl playing Elena is actually prettier than the one in my head, so I can live with that.
2. I'm okay with Jeremy so far.
3. Stonehaven was perfect.
4. The sex
The Misses:
1. Clay was so wrong. That guy is one crunch away from Al on Home Improvement. No.
2. The special effects, aren't all that special.
3. The sex
Clay is much sexier in the book. Isn't hair as light at Elena's? And I too miss the Southern accent. I don't think he's that sexy either - with all the girls in his class swooning. He's cute but not as Clay is described in the book. The most disappointing part is that when Elena comes home and Clay was sitting by the gate all day on the off chance that she'd come back that day, that was so sweet and romantic. The way it was portrayed on TV wasn't that pivotal to me.
I actually really liked it! It was a little different from the book, but I also remember Clay being really psycho in the book, so maybe he'll be less so in the show. I do miss his accent, and I wish they could have used real wolves, but that's all right.
I am so bummed, I had this all set to record the past two Mondays and for some reason it never did. :(

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) wrote: "I am so bummed, I had this all set to record the past two Mondays and for some reason it never did. :("I can watch episodes on space.ca? If you are in the US, do they show episodes on SyFy.com?
I hope they I need to check, I have no idea why it skipped the first episode but I can't watch the second without seeing the first!
This last episode he said "Darlin'", I do closed captioning while I'm watching and they spelled that out. And for some reason (maybe wishful thinking), I swear he had a little bit of an accent. I'm liking the show more on the 2nd episode.
I just caught the tail end of this show by accident this week and liked it. I'm a big paranormal romance fan, so I think I might get hooked. For the Canadian's in the group, can you tell me what day and channel it will be running on?
ike I said, I just stumbled upon it (okay my husband stopped on the channel) so I don't remember the station.

It's on Space on Saturday night and I think it repeats on Monday as well. You can also watch the show online at Space.ca but you have to endure the same Advil commercial over and over again.
Watched the first two episodes so far I'm okay with the casting. Not so hip with Clay but will reserve judgement for a while to see how he does. Like Elena, Nick and Jeremy over all not bad. I try not to compare the series to the books because almost always the series will come up short the books are always better but I look forward to seeing where they go with this one.
I just saw on Twitter and confirmed on http://www.syfy.com/bitten, there is a new time slot for Bitten, 8 pm Eastern. Lost Girl is now at 10 pm Eastern. They basically flipped them. This is for Syfy in the US.
AH wrote: "new_user wrote: "I actually really liked it! It was a little different from the book, but I also remember Clay being really psycho in the book, so maybe he'll be less so in the show. I do miss his ..."LOL! I missed this! I thought he was just moon-gazing.
Teehee. ;P
I have to say that the actor who plays Clay is really buff in a very nice way. I think he does convey Clay's obsession with Elena very well. I think the more I watch this series, the more it will grow on me.
I think Clay looks "wolfy". The actor is buff in a normal guy way. I hate to say it, but I get a Twilight vibe. I think Jeremy reminds me of Carlisle Cullen. I pictured a tougher looking guy when I read the book.
OK, who watched episode 3? It's finally getting more interesting. Canadians can watch online on Space.ca.
I like this Clay. He does convey wolfy, intense, and I don't mind the physique one bit. I feel bad for Phillip though, knowing that Elena's gonna leave him. He's so sweet. Re: episode 3: (view spoiler)
