Lorah, one hour in and 120 pages and I have up on it, I disliked it, and I rarely give up in books! I'm in the minority it seems, I found it boring, trite and hard to get into....just not for me, but others loved it. I've moved on decided I knew it woyjdvt be for me so best to put it down :-)

It's still early in the year. :)

I'm trying to get through two ebooks I got on my tablet to read and will be starting different seasons by Stephen king tonight.
I'm also reading online right now Book Three of the Blood Magic Saga YA horror online book series by Monica S. Kuebler at http://www.blood-magic.net and she posted Chapter 7 of book 3 today which ended the first part of book 3 today and it was awesome! I can't wait to read more of the third book of the series but must stay patient. If anyone wants to check her series out her series is:Book 1-Bleeder
Book 2-Letters From New York
Book 3-Ruler (currently being serialized at the website)
It's pretty good and the artwork is amazing too.
Lorah, still give it a shot as many loved it, I often dislike books that have a lot of hype for some reason...
I've just started Specter of the Past by Timothy Zahn (a Star Wars book). I'm finding it difficult to get into at the moment. But I'll see how it goes.
I am currently reading Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris, I thought the film was great but having read over half of the book all I can do is applaud the director for getting it pretty much spot on. Thomas Harris is now one of my favourite authors I read Red Dragon just before christmas and it was brilliant also. I am having to slow down with Silence of the Lambs as I don't want it to end, that's how good it is!!!!
I'm reading Different Seasonsby Stephen King and it is pretty good so far. I am only on the first story of the four in the collection. Hope to finish it by the 2nd as my books are all due back to the library then and wanted to read Golem and the jinni too.
simply I'm reading 10 books at once: arise - Tara Hudson, game - anders de la motte, legend - Marie lu, back to blackbrick - sarah Moore Fitzgerald, the demon code - Adam Blake, countess Dracula - guy Adams, the haunted - niki Valentine, the crowfield curse - pat walsh, deeper than midnight - lara Adrian and the complete works of Edgar Allan Poe
10 books?! Wow!
I'm currently 60 pages into Great Expectations and I'm rather enjoying it. Haven't really 'gotten into it' yet though.

I'm currently on The Fountain Head by Ayn Rand and still reading The Time Traveler's Wife. Hope I'll finish it soon...
I'm reading Dragonflight. I know lots of people love this series, but I'm just pushing my way through book 1 because it's so famous. Maybe if I'd read it as a girl? I'm also listening to The Dragon Scroll, which is a mystery set in eleventh-century Japan. Something about this series really appeals to me, even though I don't gravitate to mystery or historical. Listening to it is odd for me though-- the elderly dignified man sounds too much like the bold young man, and I wouldn't have imagined either of them squeaking!
Im currently reading
. Its kind of hard to read. It rambles a lot about the beauties of nature at points but its good. It's not at all like the movies i've seen and im glad because they've all seemed corny and they've all been about the monster not Frankenstein himself. glad i decided to start this one over and make myself get through it.
I am working on Baby Lead Weaning and Diaper Free Baby. There still my daily/weekly stuff going too: The Bible (NLT), Your 100 Day Prayer, and The Artist's Way.
Started reading The Book Thief- still unsure about it- hope I get more into it. Anyone else read it?
Mags-
I liked The Book Thief, but my experience was enhanced by a great audio reader. He really made the voice of Death realistic for me.

I've just finished the Wool Omnibus by Hugh Howey which contained the first five books it was excellent. I'm now reading Hood by Emma Donoghue
Mags wrote: "Started reading The Book Thief- still unsure about it- hope I get more into it. Anyone else read it?"I read it last year. It was one of the best books I read all year. It was very strange in the beginning but once I got use to the narrator I loved it. How is it going?
Currently reading The Ocean at the End of the Lane and The Best of Me. About to have a meltdown because I came up on the hold list for Winter's Tale and all three are library books. I just don't know what to do. Debating just buying Winter's Tale since it is a long one.
As I had posted previously, I started online training to become a teacher this month, and it has seriously hindered my reading. I just finished the first module, and though the second starts tomorrow, I should have at least a few hours to breathe. Once I finish As You Like It, I'll be able to join the Hardy buddy read. Can't wait! :D
Roseanne it's ok so far.... Getting into it. Not a great reader always something else to do, maybe it's because of that as I'm always coming back to it. Need to keep reading :)
Sandy, you need to let me know how The Museum of Extraordinary Things is, I've definitely got my eye on that one.I'm reading "The Brothers Story", set in the extraordinarily cold winter of 1683/4. A few people have thought that it was a drag to get through at first, but I'm loving every page of it. I love imagining immersing myself in the past, and this book is very descriptive and easy to sink right into.
I'm currently 20% through hunger games. I am enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. It's not something I would usually read but I prefer reading a book before reading films and I would quite like to watch the film. So far it is making me want to read the rest and other books in the series.
Just finished Different Seasons by Stephen King, still reading on the ebook eryan and going to take a trip to the library today to find me some ya books to read while I wait for some to come in.
About to start Battle Magictonight. It looked to be an interesting YA Book. I also got one called the Red shoe, Struck by Lightning, and a Mick Foley book called Tietam Brown which looked good. Going to get the YA books done too including Eryan.
woohoo, my library has Use of Weapons available! It's only my 2nd Culture book, but I'm really hoping I've found a new series.
I have discovered James Dashner. I am reading The Maze Runner at home and listening to Infinity Circle during my commute to work. Both are very hard to put down.
Inferno I curse the moment I started reading it. I always wanted to start it on a train journey somewhere to bat boredom. I only pick up Dan Brown for all the art work references. His literary skills as a thriller writer has always been barely tolerable but this one is testing my patience. But I have to finish it. Reader's curse!
Currently on Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth and The Bride by Julie Garwood
I'm only ever able to read one book at a time, so at the moment it is On Beauty by Zadie Smith. I chose this because I finished Howards End last week and Zadie Smith used this book as inspiration for On Beauty. I can definitely see the parallels, and feel as though my enjoyment of her novel is much greater from having read Howards End so recently.
I'm currently reading Tietam Brown by Mick Foley which is a pretty good read thus far, going to start on Little Men tonight, and get to the calling later on too.

Richard wrote: "Currently re-reading the Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman"I'm so looking forward to reading that. I have to be militant about books jumping up my to read pile, or some would languish there for years, but I might make the exception :)
Polina wrote: "A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini and Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen."I loved A Thousand Splendid Suns, gorgeous book.
