Plucking away at Winter still, as well as A Swiftly Tilting Planet. Enjoying both, but Winter is moveing so slowly. A Swiftly Tilting Planet reminds me of why I loved A Wrinkle In Time so much.
Gavin- Oh, thats awsome! I love when an author can follow a character through thier lives and make them actualy grow! I did already see some changes in Anne from the begining to the end of Green Gables.

Reading The Sympathizer. It's good but I've reached a slow part about half-way through. I'll keep plugging away. Update 3/2: It didn't get better. Too much aimless wandering for my taste.
Just finished The Novice by Matharu, and wrapping up book 1 of Sword of Shanara and just downloaded The Prince of Thorns...hope it's a good series...I've had a run of good books the past few months & don't want it to end. :)
I have just finished Sekret Wielkiego Mistrza which is book 3 in the series. Now I am reading something I wanted to read for a long time :Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in english. I have always read it in polish so now I wanted to try it in the original language.
Since I'm getting a bit squirreled on my main book read I have started To Heaven And Back as a distraction for evening reads.
Allison wrote: "I just found out there was a series. Or is it a movie??" It was a made for TV movie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099864/... Oh WAIT if this is about "Orange is the New Black" THAT is an INTERNET STREAMING SERIES on Netflix. I thought this was about the Stephen King "It" book.
Currently reading The Girl with Seven Names: A North Korean Defector’s Story which once more proves to me that I should read other genres than ya more often. So impressed (but shocked) by her story!
This has been a rough reading year for me. I have completed a handful of books but over the last month I have also started and not been able to get through a stack of books. Thankfully it was books that i borrowed through Overdrive. At the moment I am reading
. I have been dragging through it too but I just saw the preview for the movie and it gives me hope that the book will get better

It has been a rough reading year for me too. I am not finding books that really impress me. I hit the jackpot at short stories.
Not forgetting the Whale - John Ironmonger and I'm bored with it! I've read others reviews and while most are 4 and 5 stars it's taken me ages to get to chapter8! Keeps going back and remembering situations. Too much info- would be better as a movie script- I could see it as a movie. Like Doc Martin type. Will keep plodding along with it- may read something else in between. To be honest I don't care about stocks and shares- I'm the env sort of person.
Very nice review, Soul! I am reading Anne of the Island and The Ghost in the Tokaido Inn right now myself
@Jenny: Thank you! I read Anne of the Island in January. I should get back to this series someday. I loved the first book. :)Happy reading!

Has anyone read A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen. I bought this at a thrift store for 50 cents. I only had time to read the first 10 pages, but it seemed like a good read.

Jenny wrote: "Gavin- What do you think so far? I just finished Anne of Green Gables, but am moving on to Avenlea, Island and Windy Pooulars soon!"
You mean of Anne of the Island? Oh, it was great. Anne isn't as loquacious as she used to be, and her concerns are more adult. I did miss kid Anne when I was reading Anne of Avonlea, but she's still the same at heart.
