The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is very well written, as are all Fitzgerald's books. i would highly recommend it.
I'm currently reading Sense and Sensibility. I've never really got into Austen's novels before, but I am enjoying this a surprising amount! Maybe I was too young to fully appreciate them before... I'm quite inspired to go back and try again with the others.
I highly recommend a re-read of 1984, especially if you read it when you were young. I missed many aspects of it in my first read (many many years ago) I believe is one of those books that can be read at many levels and re-reading it at different times in your life can be surprisingly rewarding.

I think he was talking mostly about the classics. I think we were reading Kurt Vonnegut - Slaughterhouse-Five at the time.
That's great advice, Kirk. Pride and Prejudice was a completely different book at 30 than at 17.
I'm currently reading the fourth book of the Pendragon series! D.J. MacHale is a really talented author and I hope my book comes out even half as good as his! :)
Eleanor & Park and I am loving it! It is AMAZING. And so relatable to me which makes me love the book even more. Rainbow Rowell is a genius!
I make the odd reply to a comment here and forget to mention what I am in the midst of reading. For now it is: Soul of the Bride (Charmed #9) - Elizabeth Lenhard
I am reading A Blaze of Glory by Jeff Shaara right now, as well as Last Winter We Parted by Fuminori Nakamura. Tag-team reading, it keeps me on my toes.
I am reading Cupcakes, Trinkets, and Other Deadly Magic written by Meghan Ciana Doidge as well as Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor.
I started reading The Silver Linings Playbook last night. I loved the movie and so far I'm enjoying the book even more.
I'll be starting The Finisher by David Baldacci tomorrow. Just got to finish Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm tonight as I have 58 pages to go before I finish and its pretty good.
Stephanie wrote: "I'm currently reading the one volume edition of The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien."It has been over 30 years since I've read LotR trilogy (I read it as the trilogy). I was 12 or 13 and really into Dungeons and Dragons around the late 70s early 80s.
I'm reading The Finisher and 80AD - The Sudarshana and they are both pretty good read. Read some pretty good audiobooks yesterday the velveteen rabbit and the day the crayons quit and enjoyed them too.
I'm current reading Eleanor & Park. I started reading it before the month began, so after joining here today and finding it was one of the September reads, I was quite happy!
I started The Expats yesterday and I'm really enjoying it. It's not what I was expecting it, but it will be a good lead in to my weekend readathon books.
Re reading The Quilters Apprentice by Jennifer Chiaverini. It's the first time in a while I've been totally engrossed. Love her quilting stories interwoven with people's lives. Quilting is at the heart of every book and I am intrigued by the history of quilts and how every quilt block has a story. It will be read in a week and that's something for me!!
Since i am out of Mystery Thriller books...i am currently reading Silas Marner by George Eliot (Mary Ann Evans)....
Finished Beware What You Wish (Charmed #10). Going to start In the Cube - David Alexander SmithRoller-Coaster challenge widget currently 1 book behind (13/20)
I'm currently participating in a 2 weeks read-a-thon and started way to many books 'cause I wanted to stay in the flow (I'm also barely doing anything else than working, reading and studying anymore... oops). Currently I'm reading The Atlantis Complex, A Night of Blacker Darkness (borrowed and recommended by a friend) and Fangirl (buddy read).
This thread has just disappeared!
In an effort to get my widget up, I'm reading the short novella 'The Castle of Otranto' because it also fits with the genre of the month!

I saw your review Holly and am quite excited to be reading this. :)This one has been long pending on my to read list!
There are too many books that have been on my to-read list for too long!
I'd love to know what you think of it though. I've heard it garners a lot of different reactions.

Will definitely let you know once I am finished. I hope I do like it as a lot of my friends have loved it, so in a way expectations are high at present.
That can be troublesome. I've found myself being disappointed with some books after all the hype they've received. But then again, the hype can lead to books you'd never think of reading, and loving them. It is definitely a two edged sword!
I totally agree with you. It is a double edged sword and I have had similar experiences as well. However, my recent experiences with two books that were majorly hyped have been good - The Help and The Color Purple. So I am hoping this one also joins that list.
I'm reading Stonewall at the moment. This is a book I tried to read last year, but I gave up within the first 20 pages because the first chapter is all about the urban design and history of the area surrounding the Stonewall Inn. It's incredibly dry. I have successfully moved past that chapter now, and I'm reading about the first gay activists pre-Stonewall.
The coldest girl in cold town by holly black who I'm meeting tomorrow and Cassandra Clare!!! I'm so excited and i just can't hide it
Holly wrote: "Cant decide between Dracula and Maurice..."Maurice. :D It's so short, you can move right onto Dracula!
Finished In the Cube over the weekend. Back to the Charmed series now with Charmed Again #11.After this one my Charmed collection skips some of the books (for instance I am missing #12 have 13 and 14 but not 15 and so on). I still need to get about 14 more to complete the series. Fortunately it is a series that can be read in any order. They seem to loosely fit chronologically but do not rely on each other for story arcs.
I'm reading Hodd by Adam Thorpe. It was a total random pick at the library, but the premise really called to me (and I am a sucker for both historical fiction and re-tellings of myths / folklore / fairy tales).
