I confess I have only managed to read so many because I have been at the hospital so much this year - what else do you do as you wait yet another 2 hours for your appt and with a 1 hour travel each way?!

Thank you for your kind words, Kiwi & Renee :D Now I'm actually feeling proud of what I managed to accomplish. Thanks so much! :DOh, are you feeling better now, Ukgardenfiend? :O
I can understand that you have a lot of time to read then.
Unfortunately one of the results of the visits means a knee replacement coming for me next week(!!!) so yet more time to read... and TV and knit and read and TV and knit! thanks for being sympathetic though.
my goal for this year is 50 books and as of the moment i've only have 27.. :) i guess it's not that bad :)
My goal is 40, nearly finished my 11th. I am new to audio books, could listen when doing house work when my hands are full and supliment my books, then I would reach 40.

Congrats on upping your goal to 15, Sonya :D
I know what you mean, Dianeterry. I'm actually thinking about asking my mum for audio books, too. I could listen to them whle doing house work or before I fall asleep (like I did when I was a kid).
I'm up to 75 books so far this year so don't know how many I will get to by the end of the year though.
well since we are 3/4 of the way through the year and i'm starting grad school late this month, i'll be lucky to have reached a goal of 10! so yeah, 10.
Wow that sounds like such an interesting field of study! I hope you do well and share some of it with us.
seventy! But high school, writting my own book, family my mental health are making it pretty difficult.

18/20 My goal is almost made!!! I am so excited my goal will be changed to 50 books. Let's see if I can do. this
Do most of you actually plan what you are going to read each month? I tend to read what strikes my fancy at the moment and to read as many books as possible.
Becca-
I don't usually plan how many, but I post a rough idea of WHAT I'm planning to read in that thread. Then, often get distracted by other good things (which I sometimes edit into the plan). I tally my number-read at the end of the month. Everyone's different, so there are several places to share.

This month is the first time that I've actually made a list, but then I love horror! Of course, I keep modifying the list.
I've tried to read a book a day this month, but haven't made it so far.
Besides Dracula and Frankenstein, my list for this month includes:Doctor Sleep
The Invisible Man
Vampire Academy
Turn of the Screw
We Have Always Lived in the Castle
NOS4A2
Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
I'm finding that the older books, while not that long, are NOT fast reads.

It's been a month since I last commented here. Currently I'm 58/60 books, 9 ahead of schedule. I'll be done by this month. I won't increase it again, but I'm hoping to finish the year with 70 books read.

Yay! Go Alyssa! And--lol--join the club! :D
My goal is 77. I read 75 last year. Literally finished the last one at 2pm New Years Eve, before heading out for celebrations! My goal was 75, originally, but I completed two books that were started last year (Borrowed from friends/family that I had to get from the library to complete) so I upped the total to counteract the two pre-starts :)
I've read 6, including those two, so I'm on track :D
My goal is to read 30, and I am also doing a classics challenge, so hopefully 12 of the 30 will be classics (one per month)!
