SOLVED. A book about learning what "I" means as they only used plurals [s]

I read this book when I was about 10 years old.... I do not think it was a children's book.

It followed a man who lived in a society where individualism was outlawed. They never used the Pronoun I, only we. The government would tell you what your job was and you did it until you died. I think the man was a street cleaner.

The government also told you who you could have sex with (this happened once a year) and was only for procreation to manage population growth.

The book is about how the man develops his own mind and how he breaks out of this society.

Any help with the books title would be awesome. Thank you

Anthem by Ayn Rand. When I read your description I knew I'd heard this book reviewed recently and managed to find the title after a bit of Googling.
