So many of your books involve food with a magical quality. Do you enjoy cooking yourself?

Like you, I'm a breast cancer survivor. Do you think your experience has changed or affected your writing? If so, how?
So far so still read the Sugar Queen but have to say that I loved! How is it possible that a book can convey the feelings so good that even makes you want to sleep cuddled him!I wonder where you search inspiration for your novels and at what age did you know you have a special gift to write?
Best wishes :)
How is it that all of your books include a hint of magical realism, where do you get your insight on how to put a little in every wonderful book you write; also will there be a follow up book to Garden Spells?
Q:Would you consider doing a story with a Garcia Marquez/Isabel Allende character/theme? The Peach Keeper reminded me so of two my favorite authors I grew up with!
Q I've read that you said the magic comes out of the writing process and isn't something that you plan ahead of time. Do you have to rewrite a lot when that happens?
If you could cook up a fantastic meal for five people of renown, living or passed on, for whom would you cook? What would you serve, and where?
What or who inspired you to allude to magic into your books? My favorite might be the books that appeared in The Sugar Queen, I so want that to happen!;)
Your female characters so often have faced heartache or heartbreak and start out with decreased self confidence, body image issues, and some series walls up against the world, men in particular. Is this due to your own experiences and heartbreak, or that of friends, family, etc?
Q: If you could bake something in reality that had magical properties, what would you bake and what would it do?
q I have always found it fascinating how well everything ties together in your stories. When you begin writing, do you already know how you will end it or does it take on a life of its own? I have heard it happens both ways but am most interested in your answer.
Magic and it's roots held a stronghold within my family, within our property, within our storytelling, what about your family and where you grew up?
How do you balance your writing with the rest of your life? If you ever get stalled or blocked what do you do to refresh and get back to writing?
Your writing is such an inspiration to me. I love all of your stories. What is your writing process like? And can we have a hint at what's next on your writing agenda?
It was so unusual to introduce a character in an upcoming book via an ebook. What gave you that novel (pun intended) idea?
What was your inspiration for Lost Lake? Did your illness have anything to do with the concept of waking up after a long period of sleep-walking in life? This book is one of my all-time favorites now, so good I stayed up 1/2 the night reading it. Thank you!
Q: how do you keep the realism in your books? They feature magic that's almost possible - how to you stay on the "right side" of fantasy?
Q Magical realism seems to be prominent in a lot of work from Mexico and South America as well as some other places around the world, but it doesn't seem like it's often introduced by authors in the US. What was it that made you add those elements into your story? Geography (the South)? Books you may have read while growing up? Your view of the world? I’ve always been a big fan of magical realism and you pull it off very well, which I think is a hard thing to do.
q What was the first book that you read that touched your soul and made you a reader, someone in love with books and with reading?
Q All of your books add a touch of magic to the everyday life. Why did you decide to write this way?
Q: You gave us backstory on Kate with the e-book. Do you have more background stories for your other novels? If yes, will they ever be released?
qhow do you get your ideas for the story and do you use people you know to create the characters or are they just from your imagination?
Q How do you know what's a twist in the current story you're writing, as opposed to the birth of a whole new story?
Wonderful books, I would love to see all of them on the big screen. Which character from your books has the most meaning to you and why?
Q I am sure you have many ideas in your head for a story. How do you decide which one to pursue and which ones to abandon?
