Rick (rwestbrock) | 33 comments Before I go changing author names I found that while adding Philippe Diolé as the secondary author for The Whale (ISBN13: 9780304290338) I found that he is already listed as Philippe Diole (no accent) on ten works including Dolphins listed above.

I had just added him as a secondary author on Dolphins since I have copies of both books (co-authored with Jacqes-Yves Cousteau) and they both show his name with the accented character at the end. I added him as the secondary author on Dolphins with the accented character but the book is showing it without the accent now.

I guess my question is should his author profile be changed to use the accented character or not? He is deceased as of 1977 so I am a bit stumped as to whether to leave it or change it so I haven't done anything with it yet. He needs to be added as a secondary author to The Whale but I was waiting to do that until I get my question answered.

Koenraad (koenraadkelemen) | 6989 comments Hi Rick,
I verified with the Library of Congress, all the books on the Diole profile are by Diolé. So I would go for the correct name, with the accent, and change the author profile accordingly.

Rick (rwestbrock) | 33 comments Thank you, I will have to check that out source next time I have a question. I also wasn't sure about ill effects of changing an author spelling.

Sarah (sarahbonuomo) | 10 comments Hi! Same goes for Ernesto Sabato, whose surname should be written Sábato. May I change it? Regards, Sarah
