Hagrid should have said that the dragon's bite would be poisonous or affect Ron in that way. He must have not seen it or is really shirking on his duties.

Why hasn't he gotten back to get the cloak yet? Did Rowling just not put it in the story?

There you go. Dumbledore was right to leave him the cloak. Someone had to get it but really.... how can he leave him to fight Voldemort. He could kill him and everything could be over with... well I guess not really.

I like how genuinely Snape tried to save Harry's life although he's been mean. He doesn't seem to get meaner as the books go on so I don't like him.

Again I'm a mess with Dumbledore talking about his mom and how deeply she loved him.

When did his father save Snape's life? I can't remember. Must be in the older books.

Review: Still super surprising how small this book is, yet the action doesn't happen until the last 20 pages. It's crazy! It's such a big part, but each section of (view spoiler)[the spells guarding the Stone (hide spoiler)] is only like 2 pages each. It plays a large part in the movie! Hermione, as usual, annoys me no end. How much more stuck-up and bossy could you possibly be. Thinks she knows everything. Go away bitch! (sorry for those of you that like her) I forgot how much of a large part Neville played, tagging along in everything. I was so pleased when (view spoiler)[Minerva caught Malfoy when they were taking the dragon up, but then they forgot the cloak! (hide spoiler)] I face-palmed. If I was Harry when I (view spoiler)[looked in the Mirror with Quirrel, (hide spoiler)] I'd feel super paranoid that he'd see it too! Pleased I've got the first one down again :) I'll try continue with the series.

I forgot how much I loved these books. I absolutely loved the films. I just couldn't believe, like you, how much we'll filler there is to the books. The action literally doesn't happen until the last 10% of the book.

Chapter 4: (view spoiler)[ I love the contrast of the way the Dursley family treats Harry and the way he is treated by the wizarding world. I absolutely love Dobby, even though he tries to keep Harry from Hogwarts. The detail in these stories truly let you feel how this world could be. (hide spoiler)]

I hate spiders so much, it was even hard for me to read about Aragog. He shouldn't have let his 'children' go after Harry and Ron if he respected Hagrid. But, I guess that's why spiders are so horrible! (hide spoiler)]

1/4 of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone: (view spoiler)[I am so happy to re-enter this world. Even the chapter titles are filling me with such intense nostalgic feels.

I'm guessing maybe it is because I'm older now, but Harry's childhood feels so horrific. I hadn't forgotten how tragic his upbringing was, but I feel more connected to his pain, on this reread. (hide spoiler)]

4/4 of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone: (view spoiler)[This book makes me such am emotional mess! At the end when Neville recievies 10 points for bravery I cried so many happy tears. He is such a sweetheart of a character!

Also, just an observation but I never really noticed before how the film makes Harry's part in the third floor challenges much larger than in the book, Ron, Hermione, and Albus play larger helping roles. (hide spoiler)]
