Darren Humphries (darrenhf) | 96 comments Just broke 30k, which I'm pleased about because I didn't think I was going to get that far.

Maybe your story has reached its natural conclusion? Assuming you have a beginning, middle and ending, of course. if it just peters off, that's a different... erm, story.

Nancy O'Toole (temporaryworlds) | 135 comments Er... I can't be the only person here who's broken 50k, right?

message 54: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Swerbensky | 75 comments Congrats Nancy! I just broke 50k today. Heh, I celebrated with pizza for dinner.

message 55: by Thomas (new)

Thomas Cardin | 68 comments I broke 50k on the 21st. I started with a fast pace, thinking I would get ahead so the second and third week wouldn't be so difficult. My pace didn't ebb though.

Nancy O'Toole (temporaryworlds) | 135 comments Congrats to Jennifer and Thomas! Hopefully, we'll have some other people joining us soon :)

Sky Corbelli | 352 comments Forgot to keep track over the weekend, but apparently I was vomiting more words than I thought. Ended just shy of 60k, time to play video games. I'll save the cringing for when I come back to it in a few months...

Lisa | 7 comments Managed to break 50k today, yay! Story isn't quite done yet, but will hopefully done soon.

Sophie Anderson (shinimegami23) | 39 comments Just got my 50K today too! A whole 33 hours early. Take that procrastination!

Dwayne Caldwell | 141 comments 50K! I estimate I'm about 20 to 30K short of completing the novel though. :/

Name Less | 16 comments Done. Damnit.

Nancy O'Toole (temporaryworlds) | 135 comments Congrats to everyone who's finished, or surpassed, 50k! I managed to hammer out 65k this year, which is the best I've ever done for NaNoWriMo. (first time I tried, I just made it over 50k. Second time was 63k, third time was 61k). Unfortunately, I have about 25k left in the book, so I guess I'll be doing a half a NaNo next month. Anyone else have plenty of story left to go?

Probably have the same amount. Unless my brain decides to throw a major surprise my way when I least expect it like it sometimes does. The rewrite's gonna suck to get through.

message 64: by Jay (new)

Jay Daze (jaydaze) I'm at 68k at least according to the Validator (sounds so authoritative!). Judging from my story last time, I'm about halfway done. Think it was late December by the time I finished the first full draft. But dammit, that sucker was done. Will probably do a second draft on that one once I've got this finished.

Congrats to all who participated!

message 65: by Trike (new)

Trike | 11196 comments I ended up at just over 5k. Note to self: next year plan better (try an outline) and turn off the internal editor.

Trike | 11196 comments 2014 update:

1,300 words so far.

Working on fleshing out an outline this time. Discovery writing is not for me.

message 67: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 3 comments 15.8k of hot garbage :)

G.R. Paskoff (grpaskoff) | 58 comments Is there a NaNoWriYe?

My sequel has been years in the making. Two months ago I hit 75,000 words when I went, 'oh, crap.' I finally made it to the good part when the expedition gets to the new planet only to realize that I still hadn't developed the culture and characters of this planet.

So now, partly as an exercise, and partly to get my head back in the game, I'm writing an unrelated/related short story to do just that. Just recently wrote 1,200 words on the plane (coming and going) for a business trip that gets me up to 8,000 words total (which I think is about halfway).
