I'll have to look again. I thought they said Evil Durkon needed to be present for the vote to still count, not "alive."

Mary Catelli | 986 comments Even Blackwing has his flaws.

Whoops. The raven who cried wolf?

message 154: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments He does have a melodramatic streak.

message 155: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments Explanations. complications.

message 156: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments And now we learn why Hel was so upset at the sixth voter of seven.

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
And why Dark Durkon didn't really care. Impressive back up plan.

message 158: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments You know, if Roy hadn't come as a bodyguard, they might be sitting pretty: Dark Durkon out of the way, and a few days to save the world.

message 159: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
Hmm. Maybe, but would they know it needed saving then?

Roy can't leave, so I'm thinking he ends up sending Belkar somehow to try to prevent this...

message 160: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments Cats and birds working together! Isn't that a sign of the apocalypse?

message 161: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
Well, their world IS currently ending.

http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots10...

Roy's learning to fight technicality with technicality.

message 162: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments Small but satisfying victories.

message 163: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
Whatever he can manage at this point must feel good.

http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots10...

I adore the last line here.

message 164: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments giggle

That's one way to get a punchline

"And the truth always has a use." I sense foreshadowing...

"Don't pin this all on Frigg." Love it.

good plot tie-in, while mostly being a nice, heartfelt tribute to the person Wrecan was named after (see the 5/18/15 news update here if unaware).

message 167: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments and like Miko's death -- no punch line in the final panel.

Belkar gets to be right, but he doesn't get the associated satisfaction.

message 169: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments Yup. Also watches a carefully laid plan pre-empted

"I agree." "STOP DOING THAT!"

message 171: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments Only so much change can be coped with.

message 172: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
Ah, so that was the point of the crew payment stuff. Nice, mostly somber strip with good character moments for Roy and Haley.

http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots10...

message 173: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments May also be foreshadowing.

message 174: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
Very likely. Could mean a few different things though.

message 176: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments How about Mortimer?

message 177: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
I like. Nokrud would work too in the evil twin tradition.

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
"The ONE TIME..." Hah. :)

message 179: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments Best time for the punchline.

message 181: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments o yes

Methinks Oona is going to be significant for at least a period of time.

"Some guy he overhears is true."

message 184: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments Very true.

message 185: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
Interesting...

http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots10...

The door with 2 "x"s has me curious. Did they try it twice for some reason?

message 186: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments Maybe the Monster in the Dark did that.

message 188: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
Now the question is does he know something? Is he purposely aiding their search or possibly hindering it? Or just having fun?

message 189: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments I think, based on his comments this and last one, that he's trying to hinder them.

Mr. Stiffy's influence.

message 191: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots10...

Amazing how his willingness to fulfill his oath turns on whether he likes it. . .

message 192: by Mary (last edited Aug 08, 2016 07:44PM) (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments Eugene shows some scruples.

About a scruple of them. Or maybe just a grain.

http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots10...

message 193: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
It reminds me of a slightly more well meaning version of Crystal's won't run out of gnomes logic.

Roy really shouldn't have to explain "genocide bad" to people, but Eugenie's never been particularly moral in his "ends justify the means" outlook.

POINTY DEATH INCARNATE!!!

message 195: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments V certainly pulls off a nice trick there.

message 196: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments This is not good.

I might go so far as to say it's bad.

http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots10...

message 197: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
Indeed.

http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots10...

Shows no signs of getting better either, although Roy provides some rather on the nose explanation of the thematic reasons for it happening.

message 198: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli | 986 comments This is why mutinies mid-crisis are a problem:

http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots10...

message 199: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
and it's only getting worse and worse.

http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots10...

Having a character being so obsessed and unreasonable is realistic, but is getting tiresome here, particularly from a minor character. Has felt pretty contrived to be honest. I kind of hope Roy losing the sword was the payoff being built to and things can move on now...
