Shiver, Matched series, Selection series, Throne of Glass series, Vampire Academy... I'm a hater hehe

I just want to rant about Throne of Glass, because I know a ton of people adore it ...

The main character annoys me so much. She's so obsessed with herself and wears dresses to fight in (??). I thought the plot itself had potential but the book kind of lost me. And who knew Chaol's name was pronounced like a vegetable? I always said it like cha-ul or something. Dorian makes me hungry for durian. And the love triangle... decagon? gives me a headache. Girl, make up your mind. That is all :P

It is not often that I find books that I can't finish or do not like because I am not very picky when it comes to books. All I ask for are likeable characters, an interesting plot, and a balance between action and romance. Some books go above and beyond, others are average. I absooutely couldn't get into Rot and Ruin... The main character got on my nerves so much. I wasn't even able to finish, I just couldn't...

The covenant series had a few good moments like when Alex gets torn to pieces by Ares but otherwise it was pretty bad.

I'm going to have to agree with you both on this one lol. I read it through, but was bored out of my freaking mind till like the last chapter.
Also, I couldn't stand , sorry to any fans. It was just too much of a copy/paste of Hunger Games with different names. And one reviewer mentioned X-men as well, which I can totally see. I will say the sequel was a slight improvement.

This is definitely not a popular opinion, but I just really didn't like or . I really, really wanted to, but I couldn't get more than halfway through the 2nd one.

To be honest, I just found them boring and kind of overbearing. I like the author's other work, though.

I know this is extremely unpopular opinion but I could not get behind the Hunger Games :P the writing was so bad I struggled to get through the book and the only reason I finished it was cause I hate giving up :P sorry!!

Divergent. I recently reread a few chapters and I saw why past me did NOT like it at all. The writing style was choppy, Tris was whiny a lot, and the plot twist about Four was predictable (at least to me). But I had the strength to finish the whole series, though. To me, Insurgent was by far the BEST book in the series, and it is rare that sequels pass the first book.

@Brandon I get what you said! Actually while reading I quite enjoyed the series, it had fast pace and there was a lot of things happening. But now when I look back and think about the plot I catch me pondering why I liked the trilogy.

Paper Towns! I loved the Fault in our Stars and Looking for Alaska so figured that was the next logical John Green book to read but I did not enjoy it whatsoever! I got about 3/4 of the way through and just got mad at it! I finished it because I thought maybe it would end in a way that made the whole book more amazing then in seemed when reading (if that makes any sense), but the ending was quite possibly the worst part! Not a fan of this book at all which makes me sad because I read Looking for Alaska and Fault in our Stars in basically one to two sittings so had high expectations....

I had so much faith in , it was fun until half the book then it all went down and became predictable and boring. I will see the movie though.

I agree with you all the way. I also enjoyed the Divergent series while I was reading the books, but looking back, I am wondering why. Now I don't particularly like the writing style and the plot just seemed to drag on a bit. After the first book, I kind of got bored with the story and I didn't like the ending of Allegiant. Plus, I like books that are deep and meaningful and I felt that the Divergent series was just kind of...there. It wasn't that memorable and it didn't have much of a moral. Sorry, all you Divergent fans :(

The fault in our stars. Even though I agree that it was a sad story and has a few thought-out character, I think it was overrated and became predictable. I think the movie adaptation was truthful to the book, considering how much studios change movies from the original books.

I don't really read "mainstream" books before or after they were popular so I don't have much experience in this. But a book that I found over rated (please don't hate me!) was the Harry Potter series. Okay right now a bunch of people are mad at me but I found it to drag a lot (especially the first three). When I was 12 or something I tried to read the first book but couldn't do it. Now that I'm 14 I managed to read the first four books (I'm currently reading the fifth) but I still find them somewhat boring and slow. Though I did really like Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban. I wouldn't say it's the worst book ever just a disappointing popular book.

I usually don't pick up books that are a rage (staying away from The Hunger Games and Divergent series) but I did bother to read this nightmare of a series shortly after discovering that its movies were in the making. Absolutely regret it to this day.

Thirteen Reasons Why. I was very disappointed honestly. It sounded really good, but most of the reasons where just so stupid. Everyone says the tv show is better but I still haven't watched it. Hopefully I will soon though.

The Matched Series. Well to be fair to the 3rd book, I never made it that far. The first one was eh, OK, but the 2ND one I got within 40 pages of finishing it and to stop, I just couldn't torture myself any longer with something I wasn't enjoying.

I also tend to have an issue with classics. if I actually make it to the end I usually just end up disappointed.

For me it was Shiver... I know I tried to read it and maybe even finished it, but for the life of me I can't even remember what it was about and had zero interest in continuing the series.

I didn't like Hush, Hush Series or Fallen, but read at least I could finish them all

I really disliked the Selection Series. I just thought it was poorly done.

I'm also not a fan of The Red Queen series. Mare Barrow is the worst kind of hypocrite. Also, the second book I felt like was missing so many details in all the "battles" that I couldn't even follow half of what she was trying to convey. It just seemed poorly written.

I struggled through The Girl on The Train. So much about the book made me angry. I ranted about it on Facebook, and in my book review. So frustrating!

I am also kind of struggling through Riders by Veronica Rossi. My son absolutely loved it and he wants me to read it so much, but the narrative style is kind of killing me... I don't have the heart to tell him I don't like it.
