i didn't really like paper towns Paper Towns by John Green at all. I read it after reading looking for alaska Looking for Alaska by John Green and TFIOS The Fault in Our Stars by John Green . My friend told me that she loved paper towns but i just found it to be really boring. I was going to quit the book halfway through but continued until the end. I don't know whether I hate it because I had high expectations from the other two books or whether it was actually a bad book. Either way i still don't like it

and beautiful creatures Beautiful Creatures (Caster Chronicles, #1) by Kami Garcia as well. Stupidly I brought all the books in the series at the start thinking it was an amazing book. I barely made it through the first one and wanted to skip the whole middle part and get to the end. Then i started reading the next one and had to quit after the first third of the book. It bored me so much.

and divergent series. I liked the first one but the next two weren't as interesting Insurgent Allegiant

message 705: by Megan (new)

Megan The last two books of the Divergent series were total let downs.

message 706: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresaanne92) Shatter Me, The Fault in Our Stars, The Young Elites (can't stress how much I HATED this book), Miss. Peregrin's Home, Divergent, and I didn't love the Hunger Games because the last book was so anti-climatic for me.

Idk why but I just felt like this book was pretentious, or maybe I just didn't understand it and everyone else did. I might need to reread it if the latter is the case.

Abigail (abigailsweetie) | 8 comments I think we should take the "worst book you have ever read that's popular" and say what we would do if we had to rewrite it!

For me, any book that has live triangle/squares/round/hexagons needs to be rewritten where everyone dies because the heroine can't make up her mind about who she loves..........

Not violent at all.

live triangles = love triangles.

But now I've said it, live triangles could be interesting......run away!

message 712: by ash (new)

ash (goblingirlash) HUNGER GAMES nothing against Suzanne Collins BUT her writing style was just not for me AT ALL so I could NOT stand to read the book - I had gotten halfway through the first one and quit reading it because the writing style was just not one that I particularly enjoyed reading.

God, there are SO MANY.
My most hated is definitely The Night Circus. I finished it but it was a MASSIVE struggle. I also hated Fallen and couldn't finish it the second time I tried to read it ... when I was younger I liked it but couldn't finish the second. John Green books.

message 725: by Dina (new)

Dina Cottrell (dareher) | 8 comments for YA I'd have to say "Fangirl" by Rainbow Rowell. i stuck through and finished the book but at the end I felt like it was a waste of time. people have a bunch of different copies of this book but it was awful in my opinion.

Astrid Melissa wrote: "The Hunger Games Trilogy Boxset (The Hunger Games, #1-3) by Suzanne Collins (Entire series)

Totally agree with you there about The Hunger Games. Did not live up to hype. I generally try to choose books by their blurb rather than if they're popular, or else I usually won't enjoy them.

message 727: by Rosie (last edited Jun 15, 2016 08:43PM) (new)

Rosie B OH MY GOD, DEFINITELY "THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS"! I feel bad about this because so many people love this series, but I read the first book and it was just ... meh. I really, really wanted to like it, also! The premise sounded fantastic, plus I'd just finished watching Buffy, and I wanted something like that. In the end, it just wasn't right for me. (Although I did get it hardcover from bookoutlet for $5, which was awesome.)

I never even finished "Shatter Me." I started it, and literally could not make myself finish it. The blurb was really compelling, so maybe I should give it another try (?).

I know I was very disappointed the I decided to buy the book instead of check it out! That was such a bad decision!

message 733: by Rells (new)

Rells (gingerwolfie) I know that feeling!!!!

message 734: by Noodles (new)

Noodles (noodulz) I hope I don't get a lot of backlash for this, but honestly The Fault In Our Stars didn't really get to me a lot, so I had trouble getting through it. It was probably the way it was written in a flowing and direct yet oddly unrelatable style, in my opinion. I don't hate it nor would I over exaggerate it as the worst book I've ever read, but it certainly did disappoint me in a way. But it doesn't mean I didn't learn a few things from it.

message 737: by mollusskka (new)

This book! I liked the idea of unusual powers, but it was just so boring.

I know you're not supposed to judge a book by its first few pages, but whenever I see it at the library I just can't get past those first few pages.

Ha the breath thing was super weird to me, too.

I like the Mortal Instruments series enough, but I don't get why you guys just LOVE them so much. I didn't really like Clockwork Angel, which is one of the most well-liked books I've seen on GR, and almost quit that one altogether =(
