worst book you have ever read that's popular?
There are quite a few of them for me. Cant understand why they are so popular.
The Fault in Our Stars I hated every page of it. I know a lot of people loved it but I thought Augustus was pretentious and annoying and couldn't stand any time he was taking. I don't even think the writing is that good for the characters. At least for me, it was not sad because I connected with the characters but because the situation was sad. I sorry, I know a lot of people loved it but I just couldn't get into to it.
Marked seriesJust horrible. Still no regrets that I spilled my soda on that book
Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken ugh... That book was so pointless and unnecessarily emotional-in a fake way too. Poor quality overall.
Divergent. I mean, I was willing to overlook the idea that it pretends having more than one character trait makes you somehow special, but things just got worse. Why test people to find out what one true faction they're supposed to be in (remembering only rare divergents have more than one) and then let them choose? Would anyone really choose something other than the single faction the test gave them? Jumping off things makes you brave? And smart people are the bad guys?Okay, I'll stop ranting.

The Hunger Games. The whole series, really, but Mockingjay in particular. All of the "character development" is just thrown out the window in that book, not to mention the fact that the series in general is a blatant ripoff of Battle Royale.
Looking for Alaska... It should've ended half way through and was boring for the majority of it with little plot and no other theme than teenage angst

WintergirlsHonestly, by the end of this book, I was ready for the main character to just hurry up and die. Yes, the subject matter at hand is one that should not be taken lightly however I just couldn't stand Lia despite the hardships she was experiencing.
Thoughtless by S C Stephens was a very frustrating book for me. Couldn't believe the raving reviews about it or the ratings. Never read the whole series.
The Winner's CrimeI just did not like it and I can't put my finger on what I didn't like about it.

Vampire Academy.I was highly disappointed that I hated it so much. I don't quite remember why exactly, but I do know that I couldn't stand the main character. I can't even remember what her name is right now. This book was just wrong for me. I wish I saw in it what a bunch of other readers have.

A fallen angel named Patch? How am I supposed to take that seriously?Gonna have to go with Fifty Shades of Grey tho. Made it to about page 74 before I realized that the C.I.A. probably use the audio book as an interrogation technique on terrorists.

Lol.....I liked Hush Hush but Fifty Shades of Grey was really torturous

This series wound up depressing me in the end. I was so tired of it by the third book and regretted making myself finish it.
The Fault in Our Stars felt short from amazing for me. Don't get me wrong-I didn't necessarily dislike the novel, but I felt as if I already knew everything that was going to happen because it was so overhyped. Usually I can still enjoy a book if I know some plot points, but I felt like the book didn't give me extra details that I wanted. I felt no connection to the characters, which I was really sad about because I really wanted to enjoy this book. Overall I felt the whole novel was mediocre with some good parts. Paper Towns, on the other hand, I loved.

1 Looking for Alaska. That whole thing is like "I wanna seek a great perhaps and I love last words and bye let's talk about something completely irrevelant like smoking and why not commit suicide it's an escape" and first rate teenage angst and suicide glorifying2 Twilight. The whole book just felt... empty. Like there is a romance, but you feel nothing in it. No chemistry, no feels, nothing. Same goes for the plot and the characters.
Either the second Hunger Games book, or the third Twilight book. One was confusing and unconvincing, the other just ended up plain disgusting.
Oh, everyone's gonna hate me for this but Paper Towns was the one book that I just couldn't like. I don't think it's the "worst" but it was definitely not for me.
Is this strictly YA? The worst book I've ever read that everyone else loves is Darkfever. It's an adult fantasy book. It was just awful. The only thing that saved it was the world-building. The worst YA novel had to be The Tiger's Curse. My rating while reading this book dropped from 4 stars to 2 by the end.
I think either Twilight (any of them, but especially the laat one) or Marked. They were both pretty bad, but so popular and I convinced myself yo get into one and couldn't do it with the other lol.

Catcher in the Rye.I don't understand why this book is forced on every high schooler in America.
And I was bored with the Eragon series. I couldn't make it halfway through the second book.

YES OMG YES. FINALLY SOMEONE WHO AGREES. I was beginning to think I was the only one who hated Catcher in The Rye. The book literally gave me a headache...

I didn't understand why people swooned over him. He was abusive and manipulative. Mac was unlikable too. I really couldn't stand her.
Tiffani, I even tried to force myself to read book 2 since I got noth at the same time and couldn't do it... that's how I know it was really bad. Characters were SO unlikable and that's jusr for starters lol

FangirlI coudn't even finish it, it was sooo slow paced!!! Most people willhate me because I'm a fangirl myself but I didn't feel identificated with Cath at all!!

The coldest girl in coldtown by Holly Black. Everyone raved about it and I tried soooo hard to read it, but I just found it boring. Same with Miss Perigrines home for peculiar children. Ughhh.
For me it is Marked, Vampire Academy, Shiver,and Shatter Me. All are books that I could not get more than half way through before giving up. I hate when you get excited for a book based on reviews and recommendations only to end up sad and disappointed. Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West I forgot about this one. I finished it and hated it so much I had to block it from my mind.

I am about to start Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, but now you have me worried I will agree with you on that one, too!
Throne of Glass is one of those series that gets better with each book. By book three I was hooked!!
