Aarati | 197 comments I did not like it as much as Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh , but it was still good. I like the next book even better. JUDD!!! He's just..... I love Judd.

Enjoy the book guys! HAPPY READING!! :)

I forgot what an interesting combination of Scifi and paranormal this is. I read the first one but it was a year ago.

Gwenn (idlecuriosity) Leigh wrote: "I forgot what an interesting combination of Scifi and paranormal this is. I read the first one but it was a year ago."

I think that is what I like so much about it. I feel like most romance is interested in the romance only, but this is just as interested ib the characters and the world than the steamy romance.

message 14: by Leigh, ⚔️ Wonder Woman ⚔️ (new) - rated it 4 stars

Leigh | 18513 comments Mod
I think she does a good job blending Scifi, paranormal and the romance. The Psy world is very clinical and lonely.

message 15: by Lys (new) - rated it 3 stars

Lys (lysrowan) This one feels a bit sudden. Vaughn's a pushy asshole, but I like him

message 16: by Lys (new) - rated it 3 stars

Lys (lysrowan) I'm not as sure about faith. There's nothing to her. So far. Maybe tomorrow.

What do you think about her vision of a jaguar? Vaughan is a jaguar. He is pushy but protective. He will make an interesting probably overbearing mate.

message 18: by Lys (new) - rated it 3 stars

Lys (lysrowan) He's realllllly pushy.

Gwenn (idlecuriosity) Yeah, step 1 in dating a jaguar is to give up all personal space. But he is weirdly /stalker adorable. Like cats can get

Aarati | 197 comments After you are done reading the books, you all should read the deleted scenes available on Nalini Singh's website. They are so sweet.
Here's the link http://www.nalinisingh.com/deleted.php

There's this shower scene of Lucas and Sascha which I totally love.

HaHa! Sounds like Grimalkin to me.

I just want to purrr when Vaughn is around. LOL

Vaughn's ok, but nobody beats Grimalkin.
For one, Grim would never fall for a /human/.
/sniff

hahaha! He feels the same about you.
But... agreed.

Give me Kerrian. I like the crazy ones.

Psy council and clan are creating these serial killers through their controlled clinical experiments with their subjects. They are isolating them and trying to weed out emotion. What better way to create killers?

Leigh wrote: "I just want to purrr when Vaughn is around. LOL"

Lol, agreed! He is super crazy pushy but in an incredibly sexy sort of way.

Gwenn (idlecuriosity) Counterpoint to pushy, cause devils advocate is fun, and he really is overbearing, Faith has never really been challenged before. She's a cardinal, and can do way more than they ask her to do, but they've always wanted to avoid a cascade, so instead of letting her find her own boundaries, they keep her in a little fence.
I think maybe Vaughn takes advantage of her conditioning to go where she's directed to so he can be extra pushy, but she is also learning how to build her own boundaries.

Added note: super pushy males are a reacurring theme in the series, one that I would love to see some variance on, but it is a romance novel. And I guess pushy guys come with the genre. Either pushy or incredibly remote. I prefer the pushy ones over the remote ones, now that I think about it.

message 29: by Lys (new) - rated it 3 stars

Lys (lysrowan) I prefer remote. :D
Remote is sexy.
mmm.

But I still love you Gwenn. I know your taste in men is strange. :P

Gwenn (idlecuriosity) hahahahaha. Well. Next book has a sorta remote guy. Maybe you will like him.

message 31: by Lys (new) - rated it 3 stars

Lys (lysrowan) Mmmm. Does he have long hair and sexy dark eyes?

Gwenn (idlecuriosity) Dark eyes hiding a dark past, but military haircut. Vaughn is the guy for long hair :P

message 33: by Lys (new) - rated it 3 stars

Lys (lysrowan) military haircut.
bleh.

when is Dorian?

message 34: by Sheri, Bookworm (new) - rated it 4 stars

Sheri | 13547 comments Mod
Lol, I like the longer hair, too.

I want to know if Kit ever gets a book. He is mentioned enough that he is intriguing, but he's still pretty young...

message 35: by Lys (new) - rated it 3 stars

Lys (lysrowan) Mm yes. Kit. I like that idea. Is that creepy?
Time jump time!

Gwenn (idlecuriosity) Dorian is a couple books out. But not too many... Um, looking things up is all.. just a few pages away. But I know there are at least 2 books before dorians.

So far, no kit. He does have a bit of face time further on. Hopefully that's not a spoiler, I don't remember any life or death situations with kit. Anywho, I think she has a short story that focuses on him, but it wasn't all steamy getting a mate story. She has quite a few books planned out, so it seems, so there should be one of kit

Lol, I was wondering if posting that would make me seem a little too pedophilish...but maybe towards the end of the series so a couple of years have passed?

Gwenn (idlecuriosity) No darling, creepy would be getting excited for the leapord twins book. And now that I've said that, I want a time jump for that. /hangs head in shame

Lol! They are soooo cute. I want a baby leopard :D

Gwenn (idlecuriosity) Cause /adult/ twins are nice. Yes. They could even be interested in other people.... I'm gonna go over here. And not bother people. Why is work so boring!

message 41: by Lys (new) - rated it 3 stars

Lys (lysrowan) You seem pretty chatty Gwenn. Why did you leave me on gchat?

Gwenn (idlecuriosity) Cause I'm waiting in a [many negitive descriptive words]manager to explain why he [unpleasant past tense verb] my paperwork for yesterday

It is interesting how he/it can manifest itself through Faith's mind into something tangible that Vaughn can physically see and smell.

message 47: by Sheri, Bookworm (new) - rated it 4 stars

Sheri | 13547 comments Mod
And speaking of smell, why don't Sascha and Faith smell metallic-y like the rest of the Psy?

Gwenn (idlecuriosity) Sheri wrote: "And speaking of smell, why don't Sascha and Faith smell metallic-y like the rest of the Psy?"

This is explained, sort of. Not the particularities of how it works, but why some psy don't smell metallic.
My theory is that changlings have sensitive enough smell to pick up on pheramones that people put off with emotional reactions, like an expansion of the idea that dogs can smell fear
But some pay do not give off any pheremones because their lack of emotions, so smell metallic.
That's just my theory though. But the changlings try to figure out the smell difference too.

That's pretty much along the lines of what I was thinking, but I haven't gotten far enough to where it was explained, sort of :) I figured it had something to do with the emotions the were or weren't letting through.

I'm looking forward to this K K fellow (his actual name escapes me).

I found the last villain boring because he was easily called.
