Vikrant,

Yes, Amazon works great in India. Many people have downloaded my book Sakoon from India. In fact, you can download it absolutely free November 2 and 3 (save the (gift certificate for something else). See the link below.

You can read books on a Kindle or any iOS or Android device with a free Kindle app. Once I switched to ebook format, I absolutely love it.

Lavanya (lavanyas) | 191 comments If I could download, I'll surely read your books :)
I'll try downloading it...

message 14: by Nishith (new)

Nishith Vasavada (sakoon) Hello, Lavanya, just a few helpful hints. The book is still free for Nov 3 U. S. Central time.

You can go to this link below and land at my book page on Amazon. Download the book on your computer or your tablet/smartphone. Amazon will ask you to sign up if you are not already a member. You will need to download Kindle app on your iOS or Android device, long on using your Amazon username and password, and the novel will be waiting for you on your device (even if you downloaded from a laptop or desktop).

If you want to read on a laptop/desktop, you will need to download the free Kindle reader.

There are literally thousands of books available for free on Amazon, including many classics. So your effort to download Sakoon will to be wasted. Let me know how it goes. If you able to get a free copy, I hope you read and write your honest review. Finally--happy deepawali and nut an-varsh-abhinandan.

Bhaaskar | 1 comments Hello,
Any recommendations on buying epub books in India? I have a kobo and a nook simple touch reader. I don't own a kindle so I am hoping for any recommendation other than amazon (no proprietary formats either..).
I am especially interested in buying books by Indian authors.

Thanks.

Garima Bais | 4 comments Hi

I found this very interesting app + website .Its name is bookstruck and it has loads of interesting content to read in Marathi and Hindi and other languages as well .

It has books of all genres namely horror ,sci fi , fantasy and others and some of the books are great to read in free time .I have found some very interesting reads here which I was till now looking for in other apps .The best part is the variety of books that are available on this app and website never make you feel bored or disillusioned.

All those who are interested in great marathi/english/hindi reads can do so onBookStruck: We Tell Stories
