I'd like to try this one out. I'm not necessarily a fast reader, but not extremely slow either. Depending on how long the game continues, school could be something that slows me down.
My game just finished, so I'd be happy to play again Zakiya. I'm in the middle pace-wise as well.
I'm good with another game if anyone is interested. I read around 3 books a week once the holidays are over lol. Between now and Christmas more like two a week.

2 Questions:1.What happens if you land on an unowned property but do not want to own it yourself. Is there still a required reading? Or do you roll again?
2. Are all property that have assigned shelves required to be used or can I use our own/teammates shelves a long as it relates to the title? ex: Re-reads?5 star from teammates as are group is primarily romance /smut.
Kitten, thanks for the questions. If you don't want to own the property, then I guess roll again. As far as the shelves, they have to be the assigned ones. Sometimes you might have to go deep to find a book you want to read at the time. I was just on a property where I went all the way to page 212 to find the book I felt like reading.
Or if you have a book in mind that you want to read you can look to see what genres it was filed under. Our team had been doing that a lot.
I'd like to start a game if anyone is interested. I can usually manage a couple books a week, but I'm not a light-speed reader. Let me know if you're interested, :)
Becca, it looks like you read about the same pace as me. If you want to join me and Zakiya, we've gotten off to a slow start and only have 3 properties owned between the two of us. You wouldn't be behind by much, but it's up to you. I could handle a second game if you want to start from scratch.
Hi Logan! That sounds like fun, :) I don't mind either way. As long as Zakiya is okay with my jumping on board your game, that's fine. And I'm not concerned about property owning/winning, so it's okay, I'm just looking forward to the challenge, :)
Just let me know if I should add Becca's name to the game thread. Go ahead and start playing if you decide to and I'll add Becca's name as soon as I'm able to.

Hi Paris. Nika is unable to finish the game with Sarah & myself. What happens? Her properties are released and available again? If we've previously landed on one & read books to continue in can we retrospectively own that properties now? Thanks!
That's a great question Belinda. Either way works for me. We'll just use your game as precedent. What would you ladies prefer?

Never mind. We've actually never landed on anything owned by Nika. I'll just open up Nika's properties but let me know what you decide. It is an interesting concept!
I think we'll just open up the properties and give them back to the bank for the remaining players to work towards.

Quick question.I have just landed on a square where the shelf from which I need to choose my book is 1125 shelves long with over 56000 books on it.
In other groups when you click the bookshelf, it give you an search function which you can then click on , enter the book you are looking for and then you can edit to see on which shelves that book sits.
Obviously with that many shelves and books I cant do that. Is there an easy way to search for a book, or can I just add my book to the shelves I am only asking because I am doing a lot of challenges in the MM group and would try to link the challenges together and use a book for as many challenges as I can.
You can't do that Lisa I'm afraid, tried that myself when I first started on here haha. Best thing to do is just trudge through I'm afraid. x
I don't think there is a search function but one thing I do is go to the books I want to read and do a find on each page of the shelves there to see if its listed on whatever shelf I'm having to pick from.Did that make sense?

Hi, Im really sorry but I dont have the time to trawel through 56000+ books lol. I might just have to take a chance and hope that my book is on there.
Lisa if you go to your books page and then go to the right hand side where it says Genres on top and see top shelves on the bottom you can search there. Usually there isn't more than 30 pages on the popular books and you just do a control F search on each page for the shelf name. It doesn't take long and makes sure you know if your book is on that shelf.Just make sure that you know exactly what the shelf is when doing the search.

If you land on on a property that is already owned, then you read the required 2 books, do you then own the property? No, right? You just have been renting it out and the two books are the cost of landing on it but you don't own it, the first person does. Could you please clarify if I am understanding this correctly? Thanks!
Yes Greta you're just renting it, it remains the owner's property throughout the game.
Hi Paris, Just a quick one, I'm on a spot with the Book Club shelf, I've just discovered that searching by genre is sooo much easier than trowling through hundreds of shelves trying to find my book.
I have found my book on a Book-Club shelf and not just Book Club (No hyphen) would this still work at all (after all the shelf is still called bookshelf, just written differently) ??

So I think what Vicci is saying is that if you have a book and see that it is shelved a certain way, then it would be on that list? For example, I need to read 4 books on the Stand Alone shelf. I just read Red Country and see that it is shelved as Stand Alone by 3 people. It must be on that list then, right? I have spent 15 minutes checking that and there are hundreds of books that were shelved as Stand Alones 3 times.
