it's about 350 pages

we could do:
Part I to Part II (about 70 pages)
stop at April 24th, 1945 (at about 150 pages)
stop at May 3rd, 1945 (at about 240 pages)
to Part III (about 280)
and then finish

what do you guys think??

it's a lot like book 1 - hard to read because it's a lot of world building and giving us time and place for Rose

Rose (view spoiler)[ I have only looked at the synopsis once and that was a while ago so I didn't remember that she gets captured! I started reading her aunt's letter and I was like 'wha'!! I'm so sad for Maddie, now she's lost Rose too! This book is going to rip me to pieces! (hide spoiler)]

I'm so glad we are taking this one slow, but at the same time I want to keep reading!! But, I need to start another book! So I'll be back tomorrow! :D

How very brave and selfless of Karolina and Irina to fight over who got to take Rose's place. How very sad that they even had to. I know this is only fiction but I am sure that this actually happened to people with different names, perhaps in different places. (hide spoiler)]

They are all stuck in this prison camp, and it must be so awful for them. It is really sad to read about Rose getting beaten when she never did anything to deserve that. (hide spoiler)]

I am partway through the chapter before the May 3rd one, and this story is so gripping. It is difficult to put it down. It was obvious that the time in camp had changed both of them, but especially Roza, since she spent so many years there. I can understand why she wouldn't want to tell her story in the trial. What makes this book so sad is that Ravensbruck and the thing that happens there are real. The characters in the book are fiction, but there are people that this really happened too, and that is just awful. (hide spoiler)]
