WARNING: SPOILERS for the whole series follow.
Between 2 and 3 years - let's split the difference and say, about 2.5 years.
There's no clear cut evidence in the books (since we can't go according to seasons!), but the characters' ages provide the best clues. Arya is 9 at the beginning of the series, and in AFFC, she thinks she is already 11, but is not sure (due to the difference in calenders in Westeros and Braavos). Sansa, who is 11 at the beginning, is one month shy of her 13th birthday when she marries Tyrion, and already 13 during AFFC. Jon is 14 at the beginning, and 16 in ADWD.
There are other indications of time passing, such as Dany's pregnancy, which begins and ends (at nearly full term) within the course of AGOT. People travel the whole lengths and breadths of continents, which takes weeks/months on ships/boats/horses/foot.
