I am trying to read my scriptures every day. No such luck. What do you guys do to fit Scripture study into your schedules?

Yeah. I try to read every day before bed, (i started over for the summer) and I am on Nephi 3. I kinda stink at goals like this. But i did start like 5 days ago...
It's way hard for me. I always get to 2 Nephi and then stop. I am on page 22 right now, because in our ward we're having a challenge that you read the book of mormon this summer. You only have to read 7 pages a day, but I have to make a lot up because I keep forgetting. I bring mine in the car, and then whenever you go somewhere, you just open them up and read until you get there. You would be amazed.
I just keep my scriptures next to my bed. Then I read a few verses to a chapter each night before I go to sleep. Maybe make yourself a reminder and put it somewhere so you won't forget, like a sign or a picture.
I've been trying to read about a chapter a day. So I can finish it soon and start over. You know that saying an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Well I made a mormon one up. A chapter a day keeps Satin away. :) I got into a great habit for about two weeks and then I stopped suddenly because of a TV show. I went to bed late and tired and didn't want to read my book of mormon. I started up again and I'm trying to get into habit. I hope you guys read it every day. After a while it really changes your life.
that is an awesome saying. I have a really hard time remembering to read...either that or i'm just way too lazy...
i've gotten into a sort of a habit but my prob is that i don't read much at a time so i'm making slow progress.
What I started out with is, leaving time for scripture study. Put it on your calender and if something gets in the way just set reading for earlier or later it really helps. :)
we read as a family right before bed. i too have tried to do independent study but it didnt work out.
I find it easier to read my scriptures at night just because it's easier to stay awake than try to wake up early in the morning.
Read before lunch, or at lunch or dinner...
Well, maybe as you brush your teeth, put on pajamas, etc., you can read them so you're not too tired.
my sister, Luisa, keeps me in check with scripture reading. we read together independently. if that makes sense. we read at the same time, but we read different things. 2 nephi is the hardest chap to get through. i like omni. :D
Really? I love 2 Nephi! There's so many good spiritual parts! The sections I find are hard to read are the ones with all the boring history.
The story of Ammon is my favorite.
i think the hardest ch. to get thru is Alma just because it's so long and when i look at how much i still have left to read, i think, 'why bother?'.
My cousin when he was 5, he liked when Nephi cut off alma's head.
i aggree that 2nd nephi is the hardest- i start, then get to 2nd nephi 11. isaiah was a great prophet and all, but he doesn't make sense!!!!!!

I read Omni last night, and I think that's a neat little section! It's just like a summary, easy to read, and it is still interesting.
i know that around 6 different people wrote in that little section. :) i've given up on trying to figure out what isaiah said. he must've been a book of mormon einstein. :D

I totally agree! Isiah is just too confusing
I try to read a column of scriptures every day, which I've been doing since January. It was hard because last night I was up watching Star Wars until ten o clock and I hadn't read scriptures that night so I had to get out of bed and get in a chapter but it really helps.
i feel better after I read the scriptures. Even if it is talking abt war strategies(like I read yesterday).
I am readng the Book Of Mormon for my personal progress, and just becuase I should be reading it. And I started like almost 2 years ago and I haven't finished it yet. But I am starting again and I am almost done with second nephi. I agree but I want to finsh it before I turn 14 so I am reading like crazy. I keep reading as many chapters as I can a day instead of reading other books.
Oh, are you doing it for the Virtue value project? I'm not very happy that they added a new value. I'm trying to finish my Personal Progress up this year so I don't have to do the new one.
i started reading it a year ago from april and i'm only in alma. but alma is sooooooooooo looooooong.
ALMA is the bOMB!!!!!!!!!! I love it...I started in February and I just finished Helaman ...and I already read 4 nephi (it's only like 4 pages) so all I have left is 3 nephi, Ether, and Moroni.
The Young Women presidency of our ward approached us with a challenge to read the book of mormon in 6 months, and the people that do get to go on a beach trip with us to Newport, Oregon and stay at a beach house that my family goes to!!!! It's AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and so i'm really excited!
