Darlene Groves Thanks for responding. Right, we just don't know, do we?

message 302: by Lauren (new) - rated it 1 star

Lauren I don't think we're going to really know, have it given away, before the movie comes out. I feel like this is one thing they're going to keep tightly under wraps. No one involved is going to come out and reveal anything or even hint at it one way or the other, and I wouldn't be surprised if the last act of Allegiant Pt 2 was filmed in total secrecy and the movie was closed to advance and press screenings so not a single spoiler can get out prior to release day.

Truefan For the book, I would say I was really pissed off!!!
come on, its a fiction!!! you are supposed to make the readers satisfied!!! u could kill some other character but killing the protagonist is a horrible decision!!! Four and Tris were expected to be together. due to this reason less people will read the books (as they will be informed by their friends it has a horrible ending) and no one will go to watch the movie.
for the movie PLS DON'T WATCH IT!!!! watching it will unnecessary increase its popularity!!
also look from the past experience. Insurgent was AWFUL!!!! Don't waste your money and most precious of all -YOUR TIME on it! IT WILL SUCK!!!!

Darlene Groves So...has anyone seen that the 2 parts for Allegiant have been renamed? Allegiant for the first , Ascendant for part 2. Interesting. I believe the script writers may have finally read the book...

message 305: by Nikki (new) - rated it 5 stars

Nikki I think that Ascendant is going to make the book ending into another one the simulations. Just to show that Tris would do what needs to be done. I could be horribly wrong, but maybe Roth or the screenwriters finally realized how messed up the ending is for the series. Also, the tag line on the movie poster makes it seem like the real ending isn't going to be real in the movies. We shall all wait and see.

Meka The ruined Insurgent so whats to say that they won't ruin this one to... I'm dreading the day this comes out.

The trailer says to me otherwise. Its now my most anticipated movie of 2016. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vzn4M...

From what I've heard recently it sounds like despite the books and previous movies, this will be great. The different titles of both parts intrigue me and it sounds like the changes that may be made will be for the better, which is impressive considering that these movies will also be apparently more loyal to the book than Insurgent and possibly Divergent were

Darlene Groves Hana from a year ago. I really appreciated and liked your explanation on how the faction system could have started. That's what I would want to see played out. I want logical answers to questions that were raised in Divergent. That's what you do as an author, right. Finish what's been started. This was a direction/option Veronica Roth could and should have taken. People have said, 'there was no other way for her to end her series.' I beg to differ and STRONGLY. This book never even needed to come to a place of yet another choice about sacrifice. I'll say it again, it never needed to go there at all!

Darlene Groves I disagree with the notion that the only way the series could have ended was with Tris dying. Of course tris was true to character when she took Caleb place. She was ALWAYS taking someone's place.(Al,suicides) But Veronica Roth forced those circumstances to occur in the first place. Rather than write a more logical and interesting conclusion, she chose to kill Tris. I feel it's because she wanted to stand out as a bold, brave young adult author. Why do you suppose fans are so riled up? Because they had pictured in their minds the various exciting ways this series COULD conclude. The loads of fan fiction can attest to the fact there are actually many more interesting ways to conclude it. I've been working on a new ending since April., even if it's just in my head. Again, if many readers, myself included, have come up with alternate ways the series could've been concluded without Tris or even Caleb dying, then it goes to show there are other ways to end it. Tris' death didn't prove she was selfless. All those brave acts of standing up for weaker people did. I hope the movie makers take an honest look at people's reactions and figure out a way to make this better. We all want a good story.

Darlene Groves Thank you Lynne stringer for saying it well. "I didn't think the natural extension of the book was tris' death ..."
