I didn't like Stripped. The story felt far-fetched and there were a lot of scenes that didn't make scene to me.

I never buy from Amazon since it doesn't available in my country. I usually buy from Kobo or Smashwords. If you buy Lawful Overdose and read it please tell me how you like it.

My favorite part are (not in particular order):
- when Fern and Ambrose changing the love letter. I just love the idea, you know asking one another with the option and then tell the other the reason why she/he pick it up.

- when Fern wrote the poem. It's so sad I can feel her feeling and yet I love the poem so much.

- All of the scenes when Bailey in it, especially when he asked Rita dance and rescued her son. Again, it's so sad but I admire his bravery.

I also loved how Ambrose teased her about reading romance novels. That made me extremely happy.

I also enjoyed their flirtatious moments. This book mixed heavy moments with light moments very well. Sometimes you want to laugh, sometimes cry. It was a nice balance

And of course, Rita dancing with Bailey. Ahhh, the sweetest.

And the end...(view spoiler)[ the epilogue was perfect. It made me want to read a whole book about their little family. Love they named their boy Bailey. And of course, when he asked Ambrose if he was stronger then hercules. (hide spoiler)]

And yes, agree with you I'm happy Fern doesn't hide her addiction to romance novel and it's so sweet when Ambrose teased her about it.

This book has a nice balance in every single aspect. It's sad but also give hope and in some part I want to laugh out loud but then feel like I want to cry.

Finished chapter 5

(view spoiler)[ I'm really enjoying this book :) ... I'm so loving the main characters!

Fern has a big heart and she really sees below the surface... I love how she sees more into Ambrose than his handsome, hot exterior... she's curious about him, wants to know more about him... their "love notes" were cute and I really think he did like her in the notes...

Ambrose is the town wrestling star and he's handsome, smart, hot... but he's deeper than that, he gets lots of attention from everyone, but he doesn't really like it... he just wants to be normal... I really like his relationship with his dad (that isn't his biological dad) ... he wonders about what he'll do for college, to persue wrestling or not.

The 9/11 attack takes place in this book and we can see how it affects the main characters, especially Ambrose... I'm thinking he'll join the army and will head off to war, because of that!


And then, there's Bailey... I so like this guy! ... He's a cool guy, so intelligent, friendly and kind... he has a diesease that makes him lose his muscles strength ... so he's in a wheelchair now (at 18) and he's likely to not make it past 21, or so they say T-T ... But this guy is such a strong, full of life, courageous guy ... and I'm so rooting for him... I 'm sure well enjoy his life to the fullest , no matter how many years that might be! ... He wants to be a hero! ... to help save someone... That's such a cool and honorable life goal, isn't it?!

I really like Fern and Bailey's relationship... they're cousins, but I'd say they're more than that... they're BFF's and it's really sweet to read the flashbacks on them (and Ambrose), when they were younger (10 and 14 years old).

This book seems to be a very emotional book!... and I'm loving it! ... I guess I'll eventually cry on this one... we'll see ;)

Finished Chapter 10

(view spoiler)[ I so loved that Bailey asked Rita to dance on Prom! He's such a brave and determined guy ... he didn't care that she came with a date (and an older guy) or that he was in a wheelchair ... he just wanted to dance with her! ... and so he did! ... and it was really beautiful to read :)

on the other hand... Bailey's little "temporary surrender" and Fern's poem were heartbreaking :'-(

And, as we could guess, Ambrose joins the army! And he talks his friends into joining too... which he probably shouldn't.

As the day the boys go off to the army approches, we can see that Ambrose actually likes Fern a lot more than he thinks or acknowledges ...

Fern comes to say goodbye to him... and she finds out Ambrose told his friend about the love letters... which was such a bad, stupid move! (I mean, he tells her to keep the letters for herself/don't show them to anyone, and then he goes and tells his friend Beans about it?!)

she is, of course, hurt by this and tells him she doesn't care if she ever sees him again... And he freaks out (because he's about to lose this girl he's starting to realize he likes), so he kisses her!

Now... it was a forced kiss and I liked that she acted like it (Just because she loves him it doesn't give him the right to kiss her) and he did apologize for it, too...

Then she ran and he, stupidly, didn't go after her ... Was he afraid to hurt her more?!

Also... I was shocked to find out that Rita got pregnant! ... is her 21 years old boyfriend going to run for the hills I wonder?

Finished chapter 15

(view spoiler)[ So... I was wrong and Rita's boyfriend actually stayed and became her husband... I'm not very sure if that's a good thing, though!... I'm sensing an abusive, control-freak husband here (he was a bully when he was younger - I can't believe he did that to Bailey! he so deserved Ambrose's beating!)

Bailey had to attend to his crush's wedding... that has to be hard! I want to read more about him...

And it was Really Sad that the boys - Paulie, Beans, Grant and Jesse - died in a bomb attack, when there were just a month away from being sent home T-T

Ambrose survived... but besides all the guilt he feels for being the only survivor, he, also, lost sight and hearing of his right eye and ear, and his face has been very deeply scarred...

Fern is trying to be his friend, to get close to him, to support him... but he believes she only loves the old, handsome Ambrose... she couldn't ever love this ruined, ugly, deeply scarred one!

But I believe she'll definitely get him to come around... she has such a big heart and I believe she'll prove to him she loves him for who he is inside, for him as a whole, not only his exterior - handsome or not ;)

(view spoiler)[ I'm really enjoying the book so far. I like how Ambrose isn't a cliche of a hot guy, there's so much more underneath the muscles and beauty. The 9/11 is definitely why he wants to join the army (and I think that's when the "real plot" happen, I don't really remember the sumary). I also like Fern and Bailey, they're such good friends! I loved how Bailey tried to help Ambrose with the Hercules thing. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ So... unfortunately I was right and Rita's husband hits her ... she wants to leave him and has Fern's help and support on it ... I don't believe he's gonna get any better, so I really hope she leaves him soon.

I was happy to find out that Rita kissed Bailey when they were younger :) ... and that she might have loved him back then... I wonder if she still has feelings for him, now? I think she does... but it's hard because of his disease ... but Bailey is so worth it! <3

I'm loving to see Fern with Ambrose ... she makes him laugh (and he hadn't laughted at all in a year!), she inspires him, she pushes him in to leaving his "hideouts" (the bakery and his home) ... she loves him (and she shows it clearly). ... And they KISSED! :)
These 2 should just be together! Fern is so meant-to-be with Ambrose. <3

And Bailey! ... I loved seeing him talk and push Ambrose in to thinking about what he was going to do with his life ... is he just going to make Cupcakes for the rest of his life or is he gonna give Wrestling another chance?!

Bailey is 21 yo already ... he's holding on and fighting his disease as best as he can ... I really like him, so I just want him to keep on living and enjoying his days with Fern and Ambrose ... and maybe Rita, if she ever leaves that nasty husband of hers.

Anyways, I'm curious about the Chapter's Names... I wonder if they are part of Bailey's List (That "Things I want to do in my life" List that Bailey made when he was younger)

and I really liked that the title - Making Faces - has a meaning in the book :)

(view spoiler)[ I really like that Fern didn't have to change in any way for Ambrose start liking her. This book is really surprising me. I mean, the author could be using a lot of cliches, but she chose to make it differently and I'm loving it!
It was a surprise to know Rita was pregnant, I wonder if her plot in the story will be home abuse, because Becker doesn't look like a nice guy. But I hope she has a better luck. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I really like the way it ended. It surprised me that the book doesn't have a sex scene, considering it's a NA, and it didn't really miss it in any moment. I like the way the author lead the story, it was truthful the way Fern and Ambrose fell in love. Even the marriage at the end felt right, not something rushed like most NA books make it look like. And it was really heartwarming to know they named their son after Bailey. The whole book is something special, with so many inspirational thoughts. I'll definitely read it again in the future.
