Bree I was thinking the same :) Which idea did you want to do?

message 3: by Bree (new)

Bree I think the first one would be nice to do.

message 4: by Bree (new)

Bree Could I be the teacher?

message 5: by Bree (new)

Bree I think it'd be fitting of him to the seme. For age, I think that the student could be a freshman attending his first year of college, so perhaps 18 or 19.

message 6: by Bree (new)

Bree Either or. I'm not paticular about pictures because not all real photographs live up to anime pictures, and not all anime pictures have the same human realness as real photographs.

Bree Would you like me to post first?

Bree "Alright class, so this Friday's the test. I expect nothing less than for each and every one of you to take it using the best of your abilities. We'll go over the study guide that I've assigned you for tonight before the test as well," Nikolai said to his class of math students. In a few minutes, the bell would ring, and the students would be in a hurry to get out of their seats and leave. Nikolai was sure that he wasn't some sort of monster or anything like that, but judging by how fast they usually ran to leave the class, he could only assume that that's what they thought of him.

Bree When Nikolai met the gazes of all of his students, his gaze landed lastly on Reed. He was one of his most stubborn students who was also one of the students who was struggling the most in this class. In most of his classes, actually. Once the bell rang, the students got up and hurried out the door. Apparently, they had better places to go to. Nikolai didn't stand for long when he went over to his desk and he sat down in his seat. Everyone had turned in their homework, and since Nikolai had a free period before the day was over, he was going to spend this time grading the homework. Not surprisingly, Reed didn't turn in his homework.

message 11: by Bree (new)

Bree Nikolai looked up from his stack of homework from his students, and met the gaze of Reed. He had to admit- he wasn't expecting Reed to come up to him. Much less, say to him that he doesn't understand the new math material. Nikolai never had many of his students come to him and ask for help, even though he was willing to give any assistance to them. "Well, it's a bit too late for you to ask me for help seeing as we have the test next class, so I can't offer you any extra help before school. However, I'm free after I grade these papers, so afterwards, I can give you a tutoring session," he said.

message 12: by Bree (new)

Bree (( By the way, I've seen some of the anime that your profile picture is from. ))

Nikolai, while he was looking down at the papers that he was grading, heard a faint click. He looked up from his stack of work to see Reed holding his phone in his hands, and a smirk was on his lips. Go figure. Reed may have said that he needed help, but he still didn't take anything, especially school work, seriously. Nikolai's gaze traveled back down to his work, not only because he had to finish, but to hide his own smirk that came to his lips. With his pen in his hand, Nikolai continued to grade and correct the homework. Most of his students were struggling. Very few of them ever came to Nikolai for help. Most of them could care less too about work, yet Reed, who cared the least was here now. Was this some sort of joke? Nikolai finished his work, and organized his papers in a neat stack. "Alright, what is it that you don't understand?" he asked Reed.

Bree "The formula is used to find the area of the triangle, any triangle really. But for our class, we're using it to find the area of triangles that don't have right angles," Nikolai explained then he pulled out a pencil from his coffee mug full of pencils on his desk. He continued to speak and was gesturing to the diagram of the triangle provided. "You need at least two sides of the triangle, and one angle to use this formula. If you're missing a side, you solve for the side, then you get area. Same as if you're missing the angle that you need, you use both sides to solve for the angle then get the area. Do you understand now?" Nikolai asked him.

Bree Nikolai looked over at Nikolai's paper with his own pencil in his hand. As he looked over the problem, he was surprised to see how quickly Reed caught on to the use of the formula even though he'd been struggling with it earlier. He looked up at Reed and nodded "Exactly like that."

message 15: by Bree (new)

Bree "Of course," Nikolai said then he pulled the paper closed to himself as he looked over the problem. Nikolai, as he looked it over, felt his lips curve up at the corners into a hidden grin. The grin vanished as quick as it came when he looked up at Reed. "So you substitute in these values," Nikolai explained and did as he instructed "and include the sin value of the angle when given it. Since you have it, you include it here," he wrote this down as he spoke. "And then you compute it out."

message 16: by Bree (new)

Bree "I won't be here later today so unless you want to attempt to do it now, then tomorrow morning before class would work," Nikolai said. It didn't amazed him how Reed was open about trying to figure out how to get his assignment turned in. From what Nikolai observed of him in class, it didn't seem like he, or any of the class for that matter, cared about learning.

message 17: by Bree (new)

Bree Nikolai's gaze was down as he graded another homework from a student and he answered "I've had a flier posted on the wall beside the door of the class offering private tutoring sessions for anyone who needs it." He looked up at Reed and had a grin on his own lips. "So yes, I do offer tutoring, and I'm also tired of having you fail my class considering you're passing all your other classes."

message 18: by Bree (last edited Nov 06, 2013 08:29PM) (new)

Bree "The way I see it, your generation lacks any focus when they come across someone who is more attractive then average. The real test for you, is to maintain that concentration while being in the presence of someone as good looking as myself. If say I was ugly, then you'd be passing because you and everyone would have your heads in the textbooks instead of in the clouds," Nikolai said. "Maybe my good looks is distracting for you and everyone," he said then he shrugged and said "Who knows."

message 19: by Bree (new)

Bree "I've yet to meet any senior at this school that has the maturity that I'm looking for in someone I might consider dating," Nikolai said then he turned his gaze back towards his papers. He continued to grade them with ease, yet as he continued this robotic and repeating motion, he found himself more interested in talking to Reed. "And it's as you say, Reed, no one has taken that close of a liking to me because I'm serious. That much about me won't change, and it never will. People need to learn to accept and move on," he said then he finally finished grading the homework.

message 20: by Bree (new)

Bree Nikolai laughed at the comments Reed had made about his love life, and his unspoken of sex life. "You seem interested in talking about my life. Which is strange, because you hardly talk about yourself. No wait, you never talk at all during class. What's made you open up all of a sudden, Reed?" he asked him. "It couldn't be because you're shy, because you're open enough to come up to me and ask for help on the study guide," he said. He organized the stack of papers that he had graded then he got out of his desk and began to gather his things.

message 21: by Bree (new)

Bree "If I'm not mistaken, some people will even make that story that you have into a movie and call it a 'Number One movie in the world,'" Nikolai said then he stood up and grabbed his bag that he used to keep his supplies in and he slung it over his shoulder. "That's also why I'm here. To be someone that my students can talk to, not just as a teacher," he said then he chuckled. "That's the corniest thing a teacher could possibly say though," he added then he walked over to then or to his class. He was going to head home since he had no more classes. Nikolai's gaze wandered back over to Reed. "And please call me by my first name," he said.

message 22: by Bree (new)

Bree "You're welcome, Reed. And you'll get used to calling me by my first name after a while. It's what college professors have their students do, so you might as well start now," Nikolai said then he opened the door to his class. "If it's that late, then I guess we both should get going," he said.

message 23: by Bree (new)

Bree Nikolai watched Reed walk away from him, and when Reed was far enough from him, Nikolai chuckled. It was amusing to him to see how collected and cool Reed was earlier, and then see him now in a frenzied hurry. He locked the door to his classroom then he walked down the hallway towards the teacher's lounge.

message 24: by Bree (new)

Bree (( the next day would work. ))

message 25: by Bree (new)

Bree "I don't have any classes after this one, and I do hope you're ready of the test today," Nikolai said then the bell rang. "Now if you'll please take your seat so I can begin," he said with a smile on his lips.

message 26: by Bree (new)

Bree "Alright class, if you haven't already turned in your homework, pass it forward. Before you take the test, you're welcome to ask any questions about any of the concepts that you're confused about," Nikolai said. Several of the students passed up their homework, and more of them groaned. None of them wanted to take a test, and none of them wanted to do their homework, it sounded like. He wasn't surprised to see none of his students raise their hands and ask any questions.

message 27: by Bree (new)

Bree Nikolai collected the homework, then he passed out the test. "Alright class, the test are being passed out. No one is allowed to talk until the last person finishes their test. If you're having trouble with a problem, just skip it and come back to it later. Make sure you show all of your work, and make sure you do your best," he said then he met Reed's gaze. He was confident in Reed's abilities to pass this test after yesterday's session. He gave him a wry grin then he walked back over to his desk and sat down in it. People in the class had begun to take the test.

message 28: by Bree (new)

Bree Nikolai took the test from Reed and said "You can use this time to get whatever work you need to get done in other classes, or you can listen to music on your phone through head phones. Just make sure it's quiet."

message 29: by Bree (new)

Bree Nikolai had a book in his lap that he was reading. At least, he was attempting to read it. His gaze lifted up from his book several times to look at Reed. Nikolai bit his lower lip then he sighed crossed his legs and continued to read and maintain his focus as best as he could. Several more students finished the test, but it was a long time later then when Reed finished.

message 30: by Bree (new)

Bree After Reed had put his head down, the rest of the class finished their test and set them down on Nikolai's desk. It wasn't surprising that they had all pulled out their phones when they were done. Nikolai looked up from his book and said "When you guys leave my class, make sure you put your phones away. I don't want any of you to have to get your phones confiscated. Class ends in five minutes, so you can move around as you please."

message 31: by Bree (new)

Bree Nikolai looked up from his book that was in his lap. Already, he recognized what they were doing. Kids these days had found some form of entertainment in recording and taking pictures that they would later share with one another. The only thing that came as a result was a small moment of laughter and stardom if the moment they captured was really worth anything at all. He laughed and shook his head. "And what should I do? Or I suppose I ought to ask, what is it that you want me to do?" he asked back to his class of students. After he had said this to the student with the phone camera, his gaze lingered over to Reed. Suddenly the guy seemed very interested in what Nikolai was capable of doing.
