There was a girl that was walking home and ended up getting hit by a car. She ends up in a cast on her leg. I believe she was a babysitter. We find out the guy that hit her wanted her dead. She was laying in her moms room when she heard someone enter the house. On the cover of the book was the girl on the bed holding a phone and through the open door you could see the shadow of a guy

Destiny, do you remember why the guy wanted her dead? Did she see something that she didn't realize she'd seen? Did he hate one of her parents or her family? Was she a "mean girl" and he hated HER for that?

One of the The Baby-Sitter books by R.L. Stine?

Destiny is still looking for this.
It was possibly made between 1995 and 2005. I believe it was a newer book when i read it in 6th grade (which puts the year roughly. 2007 to 2008 time. The pages were not yellow, cover seemed new) so this girl was being followed by a sketchy man who was stalking her. She was in high school. I remmeber she gets hit by a car driven by the stalker. She had a cast on her leg. She had to use crutches. No one believed her that she was being stalked. Her mom left her alone one night and the guy broke into her home. (He constantly called and harassed her) she called 911. Guy was arrested.
The book cover i remember well. It was of a girl hiding behind the door while you see a shadow figure down the hall

If she was a babysitter, is this important to the plot (e.g., was she working and witnessed a crime)?
Can you tell us more about what she witnessed and who's after her? Spoilers are allowed in this group - just give a warning first.

all I remember is it was an older guy. I can't really remember too much else. he could have been her teacher

Anyway, I'm wondering if I have the wrong book. I have an image in my head of a hardcover, library-bound book with, I think, a girl at the foot of a flight of stairs, and a shadowy figure...but I'm not sure that's the OP's book and I'm also not sure it's Are You in the House Alone? Sorry, that's not helpful.

Welcome Amelia. I think you're referring to adding a cover image or text link for a book/author. Click the "add book/author" link above the Comment box, but you'll need to be on the desktop (not mobile) website.
