Olivia wrote: "ok maybe it was a little slow, but it was interesting what his POV was about everything.."Yeah, parts were interesting, I just wasn't much of a fan of the wolf parts overall.
I think I'd have liked the series much better from Edward's POV, since in a way, you get it from everyone's POV since he can hear what they're all thinking.
Jacob's point of view was definitely the most comical, I think it would have been a more boring book without them.
Kristen wrote: "I think I'd have liked the series much better from Edward's POV, since in a way, you get it from everyone's POV since he can hear what they're all thinking."I agree with that. I thought Twilight was supposed to be Bella and Edward's story, and to have Jacob's obnoxious voice imposed over things ruined it. Remember how good Midnight Sun was? The second part could have been so much better if done that way.
Oh, I guess this means I'm voting 'false'. :)
I thought it was a breath of fresh air...For 3 books, all we heard was how whiny Bella and Edward were, never really getting more than a glimpse of who Jake was... So I'm really glad for the few chapters from Jakes POV...

IKR?
IKR?

Agreed
ABSOLUTELY! Actually, Jacob's point of view was really the ONLY part I liked. See, I have this thing with Stephanie Meyer. When she writes from Bella's point of view it's horrible, I can barely read it due to the over description of everything, and boredom. Yet, when I read the parts of Breaking Dawn that were from Jacob's point of view, as well as Midnight Sun where it was from Edwards, I loved it! It was so much more interesting and faster paced! The books would have been a thousand times better if written from one or both of their points of view.
I don't get it, it's like a whole different person wrote as Jacob and Edward. Because of this, I have come to the conclusion that Bella is just a slow, and highly uninteresting character.
Line wrote: "For 3 books, all we heard was how whiny Bella and Edward were, never really getting more than a glimpse of who Jake was... All we get is from Bella's POV, and it's all wrapped up in how beautiful he is, and how unworthy she is, blahblah...
Think of it. Here was an opportunity to really explore the relationship between Bella and Edward. They could have actually talked to each other, worked through their concerns, maybe even come to an understanding over the child and grown even closer. Instead she ignores his fears and concerns, and he just takes it. If anything, this was a missed opportunity.
Besides, it violated Bella's vow from the "night of tears" in Eclipse. Remember that? She promised she would never distress Edward over Jacob again. And what does she do in Jacob's book? Snuggles with him on the couch to keep warm. Right in front of Edward. Wants him to stick around after she supposedly chose Edward. How's that supposed to make Edward feel?
False, I hated hearing his whinny complaints about how Bella didn't love him and about how much he hates 'bloodsuckers'. I hated that it dominated the book and I hate that he gets Renesme in the end. Bella's point of view was much missed in this installment.
Olivia wrote: "oh well 2 bad for him,but i suppose it was her idea that she want jake, to around until she had her kid type of thing."But that's my point. It was wrong for SM to write it that way, because it goes against how Bella was portrayed before. Bella was supposed to be a girl of conviction. Once she made a decision, she stuck with it, come hell or high water. Remember this passage? It's from pg. 140 of Twilight:
"Making decisions was the painful part for me, the part I agonized over. But once the decision was made, I simply followed through - usually with relief that the choice was made. Sometimes the relief was tainted by despair, like my decision to come to Forks. But it was still better than wrestling with the alternatives."
So she's chosen Edward. That was the ultimate decision in Eclipse, and the point of that whole production of going down to La Push was to 'break up' with Jacob. That was a decision if I've ever seen one. So if she's chosen Edward, broken things off with Jacob, and she's a girl of her convictions, it makes no sense for her to choose to snuggle with Jacob and beg him not to go far. It was out of character for her to want that, with or without the baby.

that kind of true, but jake pov is bit better then bella pov somwhat."
Yes i liked Jake's PoV. It was interesting and different from anything else in the series. I just liked having his opinion and insight on stuff :)

Ummm.... This was explained in the book. It wasn't really Bella who wanted Jacob around at that point. Renesmee was basically controlling her feelings. The pull that Bella was feeling towards Jacob, the reason she was snuggling up on him, was because of Renesmee.

The pull that Bella was feeling towards Jacob, the reason she was snuggling up on him, was because of Renesmee."I guess it depends if you buy what SM was selling, and on that point, in the book and in the movie, I don't because it doesn't makes sense.
Think of it. According to SM, Jacob and Edward were both valid choices for Bella. Remember Bella lamenting the life she'll never have with Jacob? If she never knew the pain of losing Edward, she might have gone with Jacob? If that pull is coming from RenFailmee, then if Bella HAD chosen Jacob, Jacob would have imprinted on his OWN DAUGHTER. Because the soul is the soul, right? And just like the rule that a wolf can't kill the imprint of another wolf, mechanisms would have evolved to prevent a wolf from imprinting on their own offspring. Besides, it's gross.
So no, I don't buy that explanation. It was just something convenient SM threw in to resolve the love triangle for Bella. Besides, according to the rules that SM wrote, RenFailmee shouldn't exist, so this is all dependent on the walking plot hole.
Hell yes. Those are the most enjoyed but sadly few pages of the entire series. But i am not sabotaging Bella's POV.

I agree too
I suppose this boils down to a Team Edward/Team Jacob question. If you're Team Jacob, of course you'd be happy to hear his POV. But if you're Team Edward, that's not what you signed on for. Any Team Edwards here who were happy to read Jacob's POV?
I actually didn't like Jacob's POV at all. It's not because I don't like Jacob or because I'm Team Edward or anything, I actually really like the guy. I just felt uncomfortable reading from his POV, I don't know why. I couldn't get used to his describing what was going on, and I didn't feel comfortable with his voice. I wish that this part was described by Bella, although I really didn't like her in this book and throughout the series in general.
Anne wrote: "I actually didn't like Jacob's POV at all. It's not because I don't like Jacob or because I'm Team Edward or anything, I actually really like the guy. And in the middle of it, we get everything told to us from the POV of the character who views their story as an abomination. So everything is presented to us with that tainted viewpoint. If SM had to change the narrator, it would have been so much better from Edward's POV.
Hmm, I wouldn't say it was the "best" part but I can honestly say it was very enjoyable to read Twilight from Jacob's POV. I was actually most excited about vampire Bella's POV more. I mean, I've waited FOUR books trying to imagine how she would be as a vampire, it was a relief to finally know how she would be. :)

I can say that I loved the titles for his chapters! They were so unique and sarcastic, just like Jake.

I was very irritated with the switch the first time I read it b/c I wanted to know what was going on with Bella! But when I reread it, I appreciated the change up and humor of it.
False. I felt like his part was just a roadblock in the story. I really didn't care what he was thinking. I wanted to read from Bella's POV. Jake's POV was the worst part of the book for me.
I didnt like the Jacob parts better than Bella's but his were okay too. It is also very interesting how he sees the situation. But it could have been cleaner with Bella telling the whole thing. The Jacob parts made the book seem messier and all over the place.
True. It was funny, sarcastic and gave a better understanding of the other shape-shifter characters.
I totally agree! For me, it was like a sudden cold rain on desert noon. And I loved every part where Jacob and Bella was together.
I really did like Bella's POV. I've always liked Bella. Jacob just always got on my nerves and seemed this manipulative, childish guy who would do anything to get his way--most of the time. The way he was there for Bella in BD part 1 was admirable. I agree with a previous comment that Midnight Sun...wow what a waste. When I read that I could just cry she won't finish it. I love how she perfectly mirrored every part of what Bella had said in Twilight. Oh well....
False, I always skimmed it, I couldn't stand him, he is ridiculously annoying, which, after the entire series, is saying something.
FALSE!! I felt his part was boring. I want to say it was unnecessary too, but we needed to know what was going on with the wolves.
True since I was getting sick and tired of Bella. It was refreshing to have his POV instead of Bella's all the time. It definitely made the book worth reading.
Raynell wrote: "FALSE!! I felt his part was boring. Then we could still have gotten what was going on with the wolves, when he read their minds. And we wouldn't have had Jacob's obnoxious voice in there.
