Title: Fearless Puppy on American Road
Author: Doug "Ten" Rose
Genre: transfictional memoir
Page # 144, 120 words
Formats Available: Smashwords - All formats
Synopsis:

Travel through Fearless Puppy on American Road with our 15 year old hitchhiking runaway as he escapes a life of drug dealing in Brooklyn. This trip offers solid clues about how to leave excess fears in the dust. Follow the author's outrageous voyage through every stupid mistake (and most of the saving grace) that humanity has to offer. Laugh at our intrepid lunatic's ability to land on his feet in spite of himself.

You will meet: a man who is his own uncle; specialists in smoke, mirrors, and invisibility; Buddhist wisdom, Christian ethics, Jewish ritual; lurid sex, family values, oxygen orgasms; heavenly Hell's Angels, phony preachers, domestic violence, domestic solutions, racist killers in America, Canadian race wars; native American wise men, angelic witches, benevolent heroin addicts, magical birds, lesbian musicians playing a rock concert for the deaf, the musician raised by a multi-ethnic group of prostitutes, martial artists battling neo-Nazis, and the modern day Robin Hood. All manner of sinners and saints travel through this amazing true story that reads like a fantasy.

Why would a 15 year old boy with a New York City native’s knowledge of transportation systems shun both public and private transport and opt to spsend the next 35 years hitchhiking throughout North America? Why would anyone bypass the relative ease and safety of bus, train, or a car of his own and open himself to all manner of possible disaster by braving the whims of fate and the moods of passersby? In his words: “I’ll tell you why. I have attended 8 different colleges and universities. I’ve learned more in other people’s cars.”

Check your mind carefully and prepare to lose some baggage! There’s a hell of a ride waiting for you without the pages of Fearless Puppy on American Road.

Lys (lysrowan) Thanks Tana!
You're awesome.

Mollydee | 62 comments okay first I just want to say it was kind of unfair, unless I did not read correctly, that I had to sign up to yet another website. That being said, I signed up because I did want to read this book. I clicked on the link provided and there is nowhere to even put a code. I wrote to the site, but I wanted to post here too to see if anyone has any advice for me. I mean we are on a deadline so the more time with this is less time reading the book and working on the review. Thank you in advance I did not mean to come off mad I am just aggrevated.

Renee Deschamps (renee1978) | 90 comments Hey Mollydee. While I'm not sure what expectations you had for reading format or website sign up, I can possibly answer for the code part.
Once you hit purchase, your cart should reflect a little box for a coupon code before you checkout. The coupon makes your balance zero, and voila! You download the format that works for you.
I can understand your frustration about a different website, I too, was under the impression the book would be sent to my email. Long run though, Smashwords has some amazing aspects to it! I mean the authors we are reviewing are using this platform, plus you have options to create your own works. I hope some of this helps.

Lys (lysrowan) Sorry guys. I was supposed to write that this one was available with a Smashwords code. That was my mistake.

Renee Deschamps (renee1978) | 90 comments Not a big deal Alyssa!! You guys provide the links, and WE CHOOSE TO CONTINUE with it. I'm pretty sure that if one of us emailed you to say "No, I'm not signing to another site." You'd answer with ok, no big deal.
Thank you to all of you at SU&R for all you do to help provide authors get a fan base, and us readers into some new amazing authors!!!

Renee Deschamps (renee1978) | 90 comments Speaking of, any news of the new code? Does the deadline stay the same or is it extended?

message 17: by Tana (new)

Tana (tana_t) | 3459 comments Mod
We can change the deadline, I did hear back and I am just waiting to confirm the code.

Renee Deschamps (renee1978) | 90 comments For me, the deadline is fine. Was a general question. Thank you for everything you have been doing for us readers!!

message 19: by Lys (new)

Lys (lysrowan) Yeah, I'll update the deadline once I hear that the codes are working.

again I am sorry if I came off in any nasty way. I just love to read and I could not get to the book! I know it was not your fault of course. I will take a look at the site again today. I did not see anything in my cart but I will know where to look. Thank you for your help and, I swear this just happened with another author he gifted me a book at Amazon and it was not there. We had to go though a whole rigamarole to figure it out. I told him good things come to those who wait. So I am guessing your book is really good! :) Again I was totally frustrated and I have a very bad cold on top of it so my expectations were only what they usually are which is you sign up and it goes to your Kindle. So I am not a fan of change I am a creature of habit lol! Thank you again for the information and your help and I see the deadline has been extended. Awesome! Have a great rest of your weekend.

This is my first time so I'm hoping I'm doing this correctly. :)

Mollydee | 62 comments well thank goodness a good friend of mine had a run in with this site and she said they made her give credit card information. I was not about to do that. But I did finally find where the code goes (which, it would be nice to say it will appear when you check out because you have to act like you are purchasing the book. They should do it like Amazon does that gifts it) anyway, my code is no longer valid. Can I get another code? Thank you in advance

Renee Deschamps (renee1978) | 90 comments Hey Mollydee! I'm sorry for being vague about where to put the code, my mistake! I do that often, I assume everyone is on the same wave length, trust me it drives my husband nuts.
There is a link above, posted by Tana, 2 comments above yours. There is 2 copies of the book on Smashwords, and we had the wrong one. She has posted the link to the correct one, with the original code - it works perfectly!! Good luck hunny!!

okay I am going to check it out. Trust me I start talking to my husband a lot and he is just looking at me. I am the same, I figure everyone can read my mind lol! And again, I have the freakin cold and it is making me cranky. I never get colds. Everything else yes! Okay again, I am sorry if anything I said came off as nasty. I think I was so excited to read the book I felt like it was a challenge to get the book! So I got frustrated. They actually wrote back to me today from smashwords and told me the same thing that I had found out which was to pretend like I am buying it and at the end, the code box is there for a code if you have one.
Thanks for the luck! Hopefully we got it all straightened out this time :)

Mollydee | 62 comments We have liftoff!!! lol! So unless I missed it, I just need the new deadline date for the review. Thank you for being patient with us. And thank you for the gift of your book.

message 27: by Lys (new)

Lys (lysrowan) We'll extend everything by a week, if that works for everyone.

Mollydee | 62 comments I was not paying attention but I think it took a week or less to straighten it out so I am good.I already started. I would love to hear feedback from others. It was hard to keep track of what was going on!

Mollydee | 62 comments Im sorry so a week from November 7th? I just have a little calender I want to make sure I am set. :)
