A graphic novel is an adaptation, and thus should not be combined with its original work.
Like other adaptations, it is often helpful, after separating it/them out, to make the adapter the primary author and the author of the original work secondary. This prevents recombining.
However, the three editions (or at least the hardcover and Kindle editions) of this particular book all seem to be text-only, based on what I can see with Amazon's look-inside.

They are two separate entities with additional authors on the graphic novel. I've read them both - just finished an ARC of the graphic novel actually.
Quick request. I just finished an ARC of the new graphic novel adaptation of Joe Hill's Thumbprint. On Goodreads, it's showing it as another edition of the original e-book when it really should be a separate book altogether. Is that right?
Thanks!
