Being Human
Brilliant, brilliant series! I've got it all stored on my media centre from when it was on earlier this year, but I'm still tempted to buy the DVDs. And yeah, Aidan is dead sexy! ;)
I can't wait for the Torchwood miniseries in July either. Looks FREAKY. Primeval has been okay so far this season. Seems to be getting better as they go along.
I read that Being Human's ratings were the same as or exceeded those for Lost in the UK.
That was more of a miniseries though. It did END, but it was open ended. I loved Viva Blackpool--the UK version was class, the US version was LUDICROUS. So silly.
Cape Wrath was good...shit, what was it called here in the US? I'd have loved it if that had kept going.
But more than anything, I want to know when when WHEN is sci fi going to show the Doctor Who Christmas and bank holiday specials!! Grrr!
Ah I see I wish BBCA would bring back that soap I can't remember the name. They stopped airing it and then put them online.

No it wasn't Skins it was the one where the teen girl was preggers and their was a big fire started by a pyscho which killed a lot of people. The pyscho was a brother of one of the fanilies so they were shunned.
Ok there was guy who owned a bar with his wife but she didn't really love him so I think she stole money from him and left town or she ended up in a hospital. The pregnant teens mum and dad got divorce and they didn't know she was pregnant. There was a gay teen boy who was secretly in love with his bestfriend and he wasn't out of the closet. There was some college kids who lived together Two boys like the same girl but one was crazy and set the guy up to get kicked out while he was secretly videotaping the girl. There was a teacher who had an affair with a student and got pregnant. She ended losing her job and husband. I remember her name was Becca because she use to wear a chicken suit to work. That's all I have.

Btw, Being Human was Amazing! I adored George, by far the best one. But, then again, i always did have a soft spot for the sweet dorky guys!
Hollyoaks? LOL, ah teen soaps at their trashiest. I actually watched it for several years, but haven't seen it in about three years now. I was always partial to the Australian soap, Home and Away. ha! I've happily broken my habit of all soaps now though, and can spend all of that extra time reading. ;)
I really wanted to like Demons, but the production quality was really poor. The lead guy was lovely to look at, and I watched the whole series, but I was left disappointed by it. Not nearly as good as it could have been, IMHO.
Lol Hollyoaks was trashy which is why I loved it! Demons will that be airing on BBC America as well?
I LOVE Being Human, Finally Australia gets a good series on its channels. I have a soft spot for Michael, but then again, I cannot help but love the disgruntled vampire character in anything really.
I have to say I'm very excited about the premiere of Being Human!! I love BBCAmerica's shows! Looking forward to Torchwood and Doctor Who also!
Anyone else noticed that men with genes for looks that should definately be KEPT in the gene pool are almost (99% of the time) gay? Sigh, those looks could really improve the looks of the species. :oP
So did ya'll watch the first episode?"You smell like a polo! Have you got a hole?"
George is so adorable! And hilarious. I just love his moments of desperation. Did anyone catch the behind the scenes where they show the animatronics they use for the transformation sequence? Very cool.
Annie and her tea-making. The poor dear. Interesting that the more time she spends as a ghost, the more visible she is. I wonder if the reason for that was explained in the original pilot? Oh, and the orange girl her fiancé is now with? Ew.
I wonder how long it is before we find out what Annie's unresolved business is and why she became a ghost in the first place...
And Mitchell. A tortured, sexy-lookin' vampire, of course. We only get a glimpse of the vamp society, but it looks promising. Not used to vamps walking around in daylight though. The rapport between him and George is lovely.
I'm definitely looking forward to more!
I watched both the first episode and the behind the scenes as well. They are planning on having things evolve as they go along.
And yeah, that orange girl WAS eewweeeee.
I'm wondering if the reason that Annie is a ghost is that she was murdered and doesn't remember it? Or she caught the boyfriend and orange girl in her bed and fell down the stairs running away?
And the actor that they got to play Henrick was on the behind the scenes thing. And he said that part of his character was humourous and part totally psycho because that was how he saw true horror--juxtapositioning the 2.
But, on the whole, I DID enjoy the first show. I'm wondering if the vamps are going to do the whole "coming out of the coffin" thing since there are now a lot of books/series that have them doing that. If that's what Henrick and the guy chasing George meant about "its all going to change".
Actually I was a little surprised by how much effort went into the animatronice and stuff since the Beeb is know for its cheesy special effects. This one actually has decent ones.

So finally watched the first episode last night, it was good, but I can't say that i LOVED it... I have not yet watched the behind the scenes but have it on the DVR!!Christy WTH are you talking about Pilot!? Is BBC messing with us!? ;)
Watch the behind the scenes, Susan, and you'll get the pilot reference. It started with a tv movie. Then when they were signed for episodes, they decided they wanted to go less Gothic with the vamps and made some cast changes. What we saw on BBCA is the first real episode. They haven't aired the tv movie that came before.
Yeah, basically last year the BBC had an idea to produce one off episodes of a few different types, one of which was Being Human. The response was so good that they later opted to make it into a series. The only original cast member is George. The original episode was different the the pilot of the series, but there were a lot of similarities, and I don't think you miss anything by not having seen it.
Sigh, I want to see that pilot too. It did look interesting. And I think that the first episode does an ok job of showing the basics of the back story. From what the behind the scene showed, I think they will be showing more of the backstory as they progress. As well, they DID promise that the characters would develop as the season goes along.
I saw Being Human and really liked it - for a first episode, it was well done. If you didn't catch it, set your DVR to tape it and give it a chance. It's on BBC America.
Finally watched last week's episode!"These people are British...You're not allowed to talk to your neighbours until you've nodded at them for 15 years."
Poor George. The look on his face is priceless when Tully tells him the trick with the raw chicken. Until he turns into a total ARSEHOLE and lets Tully stay despite finding out how smarmy his new mentor is. My jaw dropped when he yelled that Annie probably liked being cornered. Ugh.
On a positive note, would that we could all poof out of the grasp of an aggressive male.
Tully was so very shady, so obviously trying to drive a wedge between George and Mitchell. How did George not cop on to that?
I suspected Tully was the one who made George from the first time we saw him in the woods. George was so easily swayed by him though. I was disappointed in our George for that. But I was incredibly impressed that he held his own in that final fight. I thought Tully, being more accustomed to being a wolf, would rip him apart, but George prevailed!
Very excited to learn more about Annie tonight!
I think the show is definitely picking up! And it's great to start seeing more background on everyone! And I just knew there was something too good to be true about Tully I just couldn't put my finger on it.... but I am glad that George stood up to him eventually! But really I couldn't believe George would actually go back to that shack even after what had happened with Tully the day before, I mean come on, he had to know Tully would be there.....
And WOW about Annie!!! Didn't really see that coming but my hubby predicted it from the very first episode....

Has anyone seen this show? It's a fantastic horror/drama/comedy/romance series on the BBC Three about a vampire and werewolf who want to live as humans and so they get a place to live (that happens to be haunted by a female ghost) and get a job, and try to stop murdering people.
(Bloody and naked, my two favorite ways to see a man)
^ It stars the sexy Aidan Turner as the vampire Mitchell,
(Bloody and sad, the cutest George there is)
^ the adorable and dorky Russell Tovey as the werewolf George,
(I just love this face lol)
^ and the sweet and lovely Lenora Crichlow as the ghost.
The cast is great, the writing is wonderful, and the show is a total win. For those who haven't seen it and want to, it's easily obtained on the internet (torrent or Youtube is a go to source)
