What do you think is Hannah's most valid reason/person for committing suicide, and why?

of course the list didn't really bother her because it was a joke and she knew that, but through that list it gave people the 'okay' to touch her and use her as the joke. and it caused her to lose her 'closest' friends and stuff. The rape and car accident are probably a good reason too.

But what do you think was her most valid reason?

I felt like Hannah was a horrible person for telling the girl who was raped that SHE was part of the reason Hannah committed suicide. Hannah sat by and watched, and then added guilt to the horrible things that girl would have already felt. That was when I could no longer sympathize with anything Hannah complained about. It all seemed shallow and whiny compared to what she did to the people on the list.

I felt like Hannah was a horrible person for telling the girl who was raped that SHE was part of the reason Hannah committed suicide..."
I don't think that Hannah was blaming the girl who got raped. She was blaming herself and (correct me if I'm wrong)Justin that they let the rape happen and didn't do anything about it. Justin could have prevented the rape by not letting the rapist go in the room, but he did, and later Hannah found him sitting on a bed, looking at his hands and feeling guilty. And Hannah was in the closet hiding the whole time.

Saying her rape was one of the reasons isn't saying SHE caused the rape that caused the suicide. It's like she was saying. "I was suffering with you, even if you didn't know it. I just couldn't take it like you could. This is too much for me."

Also, I don't think there is EVER a "valid" reason to commit suicide.

She was trying to pretend, or keeping up appearances and no matter how despicable I find it, at least it was keeping her alive. When she stopped pretending, she stopped all living already. That's when she gave up, so that is what killed her. As for the best reason... I think the real reason was what she couldn't say, and all added up to. She was someone she didn't recognize or like anymore.

words hurt..
she went through bullying...
I totally understand that..
I cried a lot while reading this book...
esp. her last words!!am sorry!!!she wasn't not supposed to say!!they should be sorry!!!Hannah didn't deserve what happened..
The most valid reason would have to be her not wanting to continue living. Suicide, if justified by anything, is definitely justified by the person's loss of the will to live.

I think her most valid reason was the rape of the girl. I feel like if I would have been in her situation at that party, it would have been hard to go along with all that guilt weighing you down. I wouldn't kill myself, though. But again, if I were Hannah, and all the other bad things had happened to me, then I might have a valid reason.
