Hi All, I am a new author and I placed the book info in the Self promotions folder. I am working on the second book and I would love to get recommendations - which do you think are the best vampire books? I am in the research phase of building the new characters (there were no vampires in book I) and need to read more this month and surround myself with all things vampires (lol).

For Vampires, (not the kiddie kind)Lara Adrian Midnight Series,
Kresley Cole Immortals After Dark Series,
Christine Feehan Dark Series,
Tina Folsom Scanguards Series,
Jacquelyn Frank The Nightwalkers Series,
Gena Showalter Lords of the Underworld Series,
Lynn Viehl Darkyn Series,
J.R. Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood Series,
If ever interested in Dragons, Shifters, Demons...Let me know. :-)
If you want "different" vamps, try the Kate Daniels series. (You'll run screaming from all vampire movies. mwhahahaha)
There are also the Argeneau Vamps (created by science)
Magic Bites for Kate and A Quick Bite for Argeneau first books.
Also, Jim Butcher has vamps in his Dresden series that are an interesting take on them.

I always wanted to read the Argeneau Series. You think I would like them from what I listed earlier?
If you're interested in researching the mythology and folklore of a wide variety of beings, I'll recommend
and
. I've found them to be really useful reference material.
Victoria, I have read the entire Argeneu series and they are more comedic than the series you listed. Thes series you listed are great!! I have read them all. I love Lynsay Sands Argenau series but they aren't super serious. :)
Ahnah, Great! Probably more like Shelly Laurenston aka G.A. Aiken, my favorite author (her Dragon Kin series). I love humor. I will give it a try, thank you so much.
I really love the way Sherrilyn Kenyon infused greek mythology into the vampire myth with The Dark Hunter series.
. It was really unique when it first came out. I also like how Karen Chance brought real life historical figures into her vampire world with the Cassandra Palmer series
Hi Victoria! I will definitely have to check out the G.A. Aiken series, I like to mix a little humor in between all the deeper, darker series. :)

Don't be afraid to look at mythology for inspiration as well as modern paranormal books.
