E M M A Carter had woken in a strange place, his body aching from every point. He found himself in some strange room, laying in bed, with a strange wire thing plugged into his skin. A sharp beeping sound echoed through his head, and he clamped his ears. Finding the source of the noise, a strange box with lines(an IV), he smashed it with his fist. Carter stood uncertainly, his scraped legs feeling weak. He stumbled aimlessly through hallways, before coming across a large map that stood higher above him. He couldn't read, or read maps, for that matter, but could see that he was where the red dot indicated. Where was this place? Carter's sense kicked in, and he began to hear everything. Students talking to their friends, brids chirping, phones ringing in the office. He clapped to hands over his ears, breathing heavily as he winced in agony. "Auuuugh!" He screamed, collapsed on the floor in a heap. "Stop! Stop!" He shouted. He had never experienced sense this back before.

Coral (counting_stars) Julianna sighed, walking through the halls until she finally arrived at the directory. It was her first day here, and Cam was going to torture her if she got lost. Glancing over the map and running a hand over it, she looked up over her shoulder, hearing a figure distantly approaching. It was a boy. He appeared to be around her age, and he seemed to be very upset. Jules wasn't exactly the kind type, but she would make an effort for this boy. "Are you okay?" She kneeled down, pressing a hand to his shoulder and rubbing his back gently. This wasn't something she would normally do, but it felt right in the moment. He was handsome, she would give him that.

message 5: by E M M A (new)

E M M A Carter's bright blue eyes flashed an electric blue as he jerked up at the girls touch, breathing labored. Her voice echoed around her head, and he gasped in agony. "Away, away from me!" He babbled, scooting frantically back from the girl on his rear. He felt helpless, like a deer surrounded by hunters and about to face its death. The surroundings overwhelmed carted greatly, and he tried to get his senses under wraps. Who was this girl? What did she want? Would he hurt him? He could never be sure.

message 6: by Coral (last edited Dec 30, 2013 09:53PM) (new)

Coral (counting_stars) Sniffing the air discreetly, Julianna came to a realization. He was a mutant. No wonder she was bothering him so much. She'd heard of mutants, they were genetically engineered humans, or so she thought. "Shh." She cooed, whispering softly. Julianna wanted to help him, which was very unlike her. Usually she was a flirtatious snob, but right now she was actually being kind. His eyes were beautiful, and Jules found herself being intrigued by him. Fascinated almost, another trait that was very unusual for her.

message 7: by E M M A (new)

E M M A Carter froze, staring at the girl as she neared him with caution. He didn't dare breathe. His heart beat slowed, his super senses having shut off and gone back to normal. His eyes dimmed back to their normal blue color, and carter sat up with his legs still sprawled in front of him. "Who are you," he demanded in a low voice, his hands slowly flipping his hood up. He preferred to keep to himself, to stay hidden, so now he felt completely exposed in this open area.

message 8: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) Taking a deep exhale, Julianna stood up. "Julianna Marie Hammond. Werewolf. I'm guessing you are a mutant?" She cocked an eyebrow, tilting her head to the side. "What are you doing at the directory?" She was curious, after all she had just been here to find her way around the academy. She had super senses as well, but she was used to that. She'd been born with it, grown up with it, mutants hadn't. Returning to her normal self, Julianna dragged her gaze lazily up and down his body with meager interest.

message 9: by E M M A (new)

E M M A "Werewolf?" Carter expressed surprise, staring at the girl blankly. He had thought that werewolves were fictional, and only existed in those movies. "How do you know that?" He asked in accusation. How could she possibly know that he had his super senses? It was supposed to e a secret! "Directory? What is a directory?" He tilted his head to the side. "What is this place, you have to help me get out of here!" He pleaded, his Words carefully thought out. It wasn't every day he talked to a person. Carter backed against a wall, slowly standing up to tower slightly over the girl in height. Julianna. His eyes darted instinctively around his environment, watching for sudden movements.

message 10: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) This guy was obviously crazy. Insane. Lost his marbles. And she would never normally do anything to help anyone. "I am Julianna Marie Hammond." She began slowly, gesturing her hand to herself. "We are at Grovesdale Academy for supernaturals." Julianna could assumed he was a mutant, and she sniffed the air discreetly to confirm her guess. "The directory is a place that has maps of the campus of the school. I was just coming here to find my way around. It's my first day. Can I do anything to help you? I'm guessing you are a new student?" She raised an eyebrow, looking up at him with large eyes.

message 11: by E M M A (new)

E M M A "A... School..." He repeated after her, staring blankly. He had always wanted to go to school, like all the other kids. "Where I can learn? For free?" He asked with high hopes. He had been unalloyed to attend public schools without having a home, and was only coaxed to go to an orphanage. "Where... What do I do here?" Carter asked, peeking out at the girl from under his hood. "I just woke up here, in there," carter pointed to the building he had come from in fear. What if they came after him? He couldn't do much to defend himself. "Will you help?" He asked, glancing back often.

message 12: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) "I thought you were a student? I'm so confused. I will help you." She grimaced, leaning back against the assorted maps on the wall. How hilarious was that? It was hard for her to help someone! But this boy intrigued her, so as much as her senses told her not to, she would help him. "Yes, we learn at this school and we learn how to live as the being we are. I'm a pretty talented wolf, if I do say so myself. So I can help you. We should probably get you to a teacher, if you are okay with that?" She looked up at him, running her eyes over his masculine features.

message 13: by E M M A (new)

E M M A Carter pursed his lips in thought, weighing the possibilities. "You promise the teacher won't hurt me?" He asked softly, his soft blue eyes innocent and afraid. He got up off the wall, approaching the blonde cautiously. He couldn't see her as a wolf, but that didn't mean she wouldn't become one and do something crazy. "Does... Does anyone else be like me?" He said with mangled grammar, his fingers twisting nervously in his pocket. "Can I get rid of it?" His eyes widened, and even a smile tugged at his lips. Oh, how free he'd be!
((Sorry I can't think straight ATM)(

Coral (counting_stars) Julianna looked away from him, a solemnly sad look in her large eyes. "I don't know that much about it. I only know you are a species. I..I don't think there's anyway to get rid of it..." Trailing off, she forced herself to look him in his innocent, childlike eyes. "I just got to this school, so I don't know if there is others like you here right now. I was just coming here to find my way around and get settled." Going back to his earlier statement, she smiled. "No, the teacher is not going to hurt you. Everyone here isn't evil." She sighed, and took a step closer to the boy. "What's your name anyways?" She arched her eyebrows, waiting for his response.

message 25: by E M M A (new)

E M M A ((Guys. I can't even watch Harry potter without screaming, and I'm 17!!! Dx))
Carter slumped his shoulders in disappointment, his bright blue eyes dulling as he turned his head towards the ground. He had been hopeful that there would be other people that suffered the same things he did with super senses, but he wasn't so sure now. He nodded, his eyes wandering the map. "You promise?" Carter murmured, glancing back over at Julianna for conformation. He wasn't looking for any trouble, but anything could happen. He flinched when she asked for HIS name, and he could only remember the lady at the hospital declaring it for him. "Car... Carter.... Drew, O-Oneil," he managed to spell out, having remembered the name after 5 years of not hearing it said aloud.

message 26: by Coral (last edited Jan 01, 2014 09:38AM) (new)

Coral (counting_stars) "That's a charming name." Julianna smirked, stepping closer to him again. "I promise that no one will hurt you, only over my dead body. And I'm a pretty kickass werewolf, so you have good protection." She still was unsure of why she liked him so much, usually she would have ignored someone like him. But she was helping him. She deserved a ribbon, an award of some sort. "Look, I don't know what's happened to you or where you are from, but I'll do my best to help you." Jules said firmly, placing a hand on his arm in what was meant to be a reassuring gesture. In this moment, all she wanted to do was comfort him. Carter was like a lost, scared little boy that had no knowledge of the outside world. And she would be here for him.

message 27: by E M M A (new)

E M M A Carter felt a wave of reassurance wash over him, and he felt a deep trust in this werewolf woman. He smiled, her touch soft and comforting, and without warning, he lurched forward and scooped her up in a hug. "Thank you, thank you thank you!" He grinned, lifting her a few inches off the ground. He felt like he had a friend. A friend, at last! "So where do we go?" He asked eagerly, placing Julianna gently back on the ground and releasing her from his grip.

message 28: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) Carter was truly childlike. He had a certain innocence to him, like he was unaware of some of the many terrible things in the world. And yes, she would be his teacher, the one to help him get through this. She wrapped her arms around him as he picked her up, squeezing him tightly. "Uhh.." She paused, glancing over at the map. "Let's look for somewhere we can take you to get help." And it was in that moment, Julianna decided to try to change, to be the person she was being with Carter right now, and abandon the person she was before.

E M M A ((Are you kidding me. IT DIDN'T POST WTF brb smashing my face in a wall))

message 32: by E M M A (new)

E M M A Carter nodded, joining Julianna by the big wall with pictures. A map. He could vaguely understand them, but without the knowledge to read, it was hopeless. "What is here?" Carter asked, intrigued by the red star. The only red star. Could it be treasure of untold fortunes? The treasure would definitely bring him out of the dust, and maybe people would respect him. Maybe. The little scribbles he had seen all the time on the newspapers he slept on or the big signs along the roads were just a blur to him; there was no use in trying. Frustrated, carter cracked his knuckles and stared at the map until his eyes watered. "What kind of help?" He asked hopefully. He wanted his curse cured, of course, but would they help him learn to read? Like a normal kid? He was seventeen now, he was sure of it, but there was no way he'd end up successful like all the people in their flashy white cars with the big wheels. He wanted to be normal.

message 33: by E M M A (new)

E M M A ((Are you still on?))

message 34: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) ((I'll be on later! Like soon later because I have to go for now, I'll see if I can fit in a reply, I'm watching a movie.))

message 35: by E M M A (new)

E M M A ((Okay! No problem!))

message 36: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) Julianna looked to where he was pointing, her eyes following his hand. "The red star is our current location. It's where we are right now." She explained slowly, gesturing with her hands. For some reason, she felt like she was teaching a young child new words. It was so adorable how many questions Carter asked. Maybe Julianna would consider pursuing the career of a teacher some day. "Help to figure out why you are here. I mean, did someone bring you here so you could be a student." She raised an eyebrow, before getting an interesting idea. "By way Carter, let's be best friends this year, if you are going to be a student. You can confide in me anytime." Jules winked at him, afterwards, glancing back at the map.

message 37: by E M M A (new)

E M M A Carter nodded slowly, processing the information at the rate of a two year old. His hand dropped to his side, and he observed the map and compared it his position on the map and the buildings around him. "I see," he murmured. No treasure, but at least he was learning things. He smiled at Julianna, pleased to have a friend to help him along, finally. He had someone to answer his questions, and help him get help. His eyes widened when w remembered the chase, the hiding, the running... He glanced down at his scratches legs from running through the dead bramble field to escape the strange men. Then he remembered the pricking in his neck, then blackness. "Bad... Bad men," he murmured, touching his neck instinctively. "They've kidnapped me!" He exclaimed as realization dawned on him. He gulped, crossing his arms and sidling over to Julianna. Carter nodded eagerly again, agreeing to the idea of becoming friends. He didn't understand anything else she had said, but it must have been about friendship. "Let's get out of here, I'm scared," he said softly, his voice vbarely above a whisper. He didn't want to be chased again.

message 38: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) Julianna recalled a time when she had been like Carted, so innocent and vulnerable, open. That was before her parents' suicide. Dark, dark times for her. Her parents hadn't been much of parents anyways, it had been more of an embarrassment to her then a heartbreak. But she had been strong, through all of the abuse she received, until she was a strong enough werewolf to fight back. But by then, she already had been reunited with Cam, and taking in by her now, kind foster parents. No, she had to stop thinking about her past. Focusing on Carter, she sighed trying to keep her cool. It wasn't his fault that he was so unknowledgeable, so childlike. It was actually kind of cute. "This school is completely safe. You don't have to be afraid. And if anyone does try to hurt you, I will hurt then." A smirk took over her features, slowly forming into a smile. "Are you hungry?" She paused, looking over at him, "I can take you somewhere to get food."

message 39: by E M M A (new)

E M M A Safe. The word rang in his ears, and was immediately convinced by Julianna's smooth voice. He took her hand in both of his, cracking a smile. "Thank you," he said softly, his lips widening into a smile. He squeezed her hand, leaning into her. Isn't that what friends did? Held hands? He always saw it , and it was always between a boy and a girl. He was finally like the others! "Yes, hungry! I want to eat," he bit his bottom lip, wincing as his stomach growled in agreement. "Where do we go?" He pointed to the map, tracing his finger along the roads and paths.
((Tell me when his illiteracy starts to piss you off! We can always have him go to one of the witches for a spell)

message 40: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) ((no I think it's really cute :3))

message 41: by Coral (new)

Coral (counting_stars) Julianna laughed at his illiteracy, leaning back against the wall of maps. "We can go to Aquarius. It's a restaurant a little ways away on campus." She said quietly, turning around to point to it on the map. When he grabbed her hand, she smiled, giving him a reassuring squeeze in response. "Just...just don't hold my hand in the restaurant. Unless you want people to think we are dating." She arched her eyebrows, pulling him out of the directory and in the direction of the restaurant."

((we can post at Aquarius now I think :)))

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

Jonesy walked to the directory with Iris by her side. She gestured at it for Iris to look at. "Where would you like to start first?"

message 43: by Colleen (new)

Colleen (colleenjones83) "What should I do first? I'm thinking I probably should get a schedule, right?"

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

"If you haven't already. Have you gotten a dorm yet?" Jonesy looked at a piece of the map she had never gone to. It wasn't labeled. Hmm, I might check that out later, she thought.

message 45: by Colleen (new)

Colleen (colleenjones83) "I haven't done anything I'm afraid to say. Is that a bad thing?" Iris says with a bit of shame in her voice.

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

Jonesy shook her head, "No, not at all! Some people are trying to settle into the new scenery before they even mess with school stuff. We'll get you a schedule and then a dorm. After that, we'll go wherever you need to go!"

message 47: by Colleen (new)

Colleen (colleenjones83) "That sounds good. What kind of classes are there for benders who are also half faery/half witch"

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

"Well, wow, that's a lot of combinations. They have Bending 101, Faerie Powers 101, and Witchery. May I ask how you are all of those species?" Jonesy asked in awe.

message 49: by Colleen (last edited Jan 08, 2014 03:40PM) (new)

Colleen (colleenjones83) "My mom is a faery who also can control fire, and my dad is a witch. Okay what other classes should I take?"

message 50: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 08, 2014 03:47PM) (new)

"Oh, okay. They also have Science, Mystical History, Mixed Martial Arts & Defense, Mutation Transformation and Sociality, Power Taming, Forensics, Astronomy, Gym, Band, Choir, Drama, English and Literature, Demonizing 101, Blood Thirsty 101, Full Moon Turning, Library, Art, Driver's Ed, and Math," Jonesy tried to remember every class.
