Anyone (account older than 7 days + verified email) can add a book or request librarians to do. If a search for a book fails, at upper right there will be an option to add book manually. Or you can use the form found under help screens to do, that's at http://www.goodreads.com/book/new
All books are added by authors, librarians or other members unless on data feeds that goodreads use (for example, goodreads does use some Ingram/onix data feeds).
Double check with your publisher about being included on those feeds or if self-published, check your book's distribution options. I'm not an author so not familiar with all the distribution channels but if you release via amazon's createspace, I do know you have to sign up for expanded distribution (at one time that was an additional $25 fee) to be included in the Ingram feed used by bookstores and goodreads.
Otherwise, wait for fans to add the book to add to their shelves, add yourself, or ask a librarian to add.
Most data on goodreads is crowdsourced from active members, even adding the books and the book genres.
Now that I've released my second book http://www.amazon.com/The-Bastard-ebo... it's not showing up.
Yes, I would like you to add it. But further more, what can I do in the future to make sure my projects show up without asking here?
Thank you!
