Jane Nickerson | 5 comments My book STRANDS OF BRONZE AND GOLD was recently released in Europe in a German translation. Due to the hard work by the translator, it is a different book with a different title intended for a different audience, yet here on Goodreads, it is lumped in with the English version. If one types SO WIE KUPFER UND GOLD (more literally translated as "Like Copper and Gold", you find STRANDS OF BRONZE AND GOLD. Wouldn't it be better if the translation could be seen separately? The German readers have to plow through thousands of ratings and many reviews of the English version, and probably won't even find comments on the German one.
Is there a way to separate the translation? There is an Italian version coming out around now and it has the very different title translated back to English as BLUEBEARD, THE CHAMBER OF BLOOD.

What do you suggest?

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments It is standard for all translations to be combined. Readers who are looking for reviews of a particular edition can sort the reviews in that way. (There has been some preliminary discussion in the feedback group about setting up divisions within a book's editions to handle languages in a more advanced way, but this is not available yet.)
