I've found the best time to have devo's in a modern, busy life is in the morning. (: I've spent days just cramming my devotional time in before I get to sleep and sometimes missing devotional time entirely, but when I started having morning devotions, it effected the whole day. Psalms 90:14 say, "Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days." Having fellowship with Christ to start out the day just makes the whole day brighter. (:
Resourceful advice:
Try your best. Always go into things with good intentions and positive thoughts. Most likely, you'll be admired for your determination and will tend to do better. When you lose a soccer game or have a bad day at school or work, try to go through it with a quiet smile and do better next time. Don't blame it all on yourself, nor should you blame it on anyone else.
Show your colors and try your best in everything you do. A verse of the day:
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. This if from: John 15:5-8
Go with GOD! :d

This is on page 731 & 732 in my Good News Bible, and I thought whilst reading it to myself: “This is a fantastic verse to be reading at the start of the new year” So I thought why not share it with you guys, after all, that’s what this Group’s focus it about: Christianity, and the fact that I can share things with you is a great feeling! So without further ado, I give you God’s word! XD
Ecclesiastes Seven, New International Version (NIV) Wisdom.
A good reputation is better than expensive perfume; and the day you die is better than the day you are born.
2 It is better to go to a home where there is mourning than to one where there is a party, because the living should always remind themselves that death is waiting for us all.
3 Sorrow is better than laughter; it may sadden your face, but it sharpens your understanding.
4 Someone who is always thinking about happiness is a fool. A wise person thinks about death.
5 It is better to have wise people reprimand you than to have stupid people sing your praises.
6 When a fool laughs, it is like thorns crackling in a fire. It doesn't mean a thing.
7 You may be wise, but if you cheat someone, you are acting like a fool. If you take a bribe, you ruin your character.
8 The end of something is better than its beginning. Patience is better than pride.
9 Keep your temper under control; it is foolish to harbor a grudge.
10 Never ask, “Oh, why were things so much better in the old days?” It's not an intelligent question.
11 Everyone who lives ought to be wise; it is as good as receiving an inheritance 12 and will give you as much security as money can. Wisdom keeps you safe—this is the advantage of knowledge.
13 Think about what God has done. How can anyone straighten out what God has made crooked?
14 When things are going well for you, be glad, and when trouble comes, just remember: God sends both happiness and trouble; you never know what is going to happen.
15 My life has been useless, but in it I have seen everything. Some good people may die while others live on, even though they are evil.
16 So don't be too good or too wise—why kill yourself 17 But don't be too wicked or too foolish, either—why die before you have to?
18 Avoid both extremes. If you have reverence for God, you will be successful anyway.
19 Wisdom does more for a person than ten rulers can do for a city.
20 There is no one on earth who does what is right all the time and never makes a mistake.
It goes on but I’ll stop there, if you’d like to continue, please open a bible and enjoy, or an app, or through the internet or a church. Whatever suites you best. It may just be me, I don’t understand everything written in this deep passage (when I say ‘I don’t understand everything written’ I mean that most of this passage I can decipher but it does tend to grasp my mind at points), but all you smart people out there, staying quite with your heads down, that’s right- I see you! You know what to do… Thank you for reading! :D

15 And he went on to say to them all, “Watch out and guard yourselves from every kind of greed; because your true life is not made up of the things you own, no matter how rich you may be.”

Proverbs 15:17-19Good News Translation (GNT)
17 Better to eat vegetables with people you love than to eat the finest meat where there is hate.
18 Hot tempers cause arguments, but patience brings peace.
19 If you are lazy, you will meet difficulty everywhere, but if you are honest, you will have no trouble.

One of my favourite books book is Psalms.
Psalms 4
“Answer me when I pray, O God, my defender! When I was in trouble, you helped me. Be kind to me now and hear my prayer.
How long will you people insult me? How long will you love what is worthless and go after what is false?
Remember that the Lord has chosen the righteous for his own, and he hears me when I call to him.
Tremble with fear and stop sinning; think deeply about this, when you lie in silence on your beds.
Offer the right sacrifices to the Lord, and put your trust in him.
There are many who pray: “Give us more blessings, O Lord. Look on us with kindness!”
But the joy that you have given me is more than they will ever have with all their grain and wine.
When I lay down, I go to sleep in peace; you alone, O Lord, keep me perfectly safe.” -Psalms Four

God says to put your everything into anything.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people. Remember that the Lord will give you as a reward what he has kept for his people. For Christ is the real Master you serve. And all wrongdoers will be repaid for the wrong things they do, because God judges everyone by the same standard.” -Colossians 3:23-25

Life in God's Service Romans 12:1-2
So then, my friends, because of God's great mercy to us I appeal to you: Offer yourselves as a living sacrifice to God, dedicated to his service and pleasing to him. This is the true worship that you should offer.
Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God—what is good and is pleasing to him and is perfect.

8 In conclusion, my friends, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honourable.

I read a really good verse yesterday, pretty much saying that when you confess your sins you'll be right with god and yourself. It's a pretty comforting thought if you ask me.
Jeremiah 31:25 - Good News Translation (GNT)
I will refresh those who are weary and will satisfy with food everyone who is weak from hunger.

Not a bible verse but a very good saying "If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go FAR go together." -Robin Jones Gunn
