The last words of the book, "but who'd believe it?" Would you believe it? Then "The Hand", what do you think it is?
I would believe it in a Indian way, like I believe that is what the Indians thought. I do not believe that there is really a third world. The way I see it is, that Louis L'Amour was showing us the thoughts and beliefs of some Indian Tribes.
In my mind I kept thinking of Zipacna. He was the one others feared, and I think he was ruling the people, saying it was The Hand's orders.

I consider Louis a genius and an American Prophet. Dedicated to his own word, as he must learn and knowing from all to pass it on in his language, an infinite array of Ancestors, and ones DNA exposed in a story that systematically leads one into himself, recognize we live in a gigantic place with gigantic l demands to know and not to go there with every excuse that is synthesized in every word, every step ones own rejection principle, he displays a host of psychological impediments, namely how we demand to remain stupid and childish while demanding maturity and growth and above all no matter what, to know
