I believe the formatting was changed slightly to accommodate the flag link.
Edit: Actually, it has been fixed now.

Since this is something which is, by its nature, already part of an audit log, I would hope it would be okay to flag and revert a change if needed....

Do we contact support if we're trying to add a book which has been nabbed by one-click?

the author has been changed to M.F.K. Fisher. This is incorrect. The librarian who is suppoedly the source for that edit can't be flagged. Also I looked through every single page of edits for all editions and did not see that librarian's name among them. What gives? Did that librarian make that edit before the librarian log came into existence? I've had this book on my shelf forever, and I know when I shelved it the author's name was correctly supplied, not M.F.K. Fisher. (Fisher is the translator on this.)

Re 12, I think that edit was made before the log was changed. But what would be the purpose of flagging such an old edit?

Is that really worth flagging to Goodreads support? If you just edit the entry & label M.F.K. Fisher's Role as "translator", does that other librarian come back in and "Fix" it again? If every mistake made by a Librarian is going to have to be adjudicated by Goodreads staff, they are going to be awfully busy.

Some librarians need to be flagged. They will revert valid changes and reverse corrections, repeatedly, until the cows come home. You don't have to flag everything but sometimes you absolutely have to. Besides, this is the staff's idea.

Which is why I asked, "If you just edit the entry ...., does that other Librarian come back in and "fix" it again?". There's a difference between just fixing a simple mistake and getting into an update war with a stubborn fellow Librarian who won't take a hint....

It happens all the time. On this edition the duff edits are made by a Deleted Member so we aren't using any names.

Ignore page 3 of the edits, read page 2 from the bottom then page 1. Multiple illegal cover changes. Reverted by me. Immediately followed, the same day, by more multiple illegal cover changes. Flagged by me and reverted by staff. I did message about alternate cover editions etc but that was ignored.

I just checked a random book and still saw the [flag] option.

Looking at the page I linked in #23 as an example, I see the flag link in Firefox 26, Chrome 31, IE 9 all on PC. Are you using a mobile device?

Can you see it on this link?

ETA: I am looking specifically at the edits in the right hand column. The second entry is a Goodreads update of an incorrect change in original publication date. I wanted to flag that update, but was unable to do so.

Yes. Only one per set of edits, but it is there.
This is what I see, minus bolding etc.
Elizabeth (Alaska) updated the book Adam Bede by George Eliot
publication_year: '999' to '1999' (undo)
language_code: 'en-US' to 'eng' (undo)
(flag)

Ha! and now it is magically back! I was going to copy/paste so you could see, but now it is changed. Quick fix!

Or take to the car dealer and your car stops that clunking sound, until you drive off shaking your head.

Ha! And I'm so glad you can!

Will the Goodreads' employee correct the incorrect edit or do they just contact the Librarian to let them know about their error? I flagged this a long time ago and it has not been corrected.

Fixed. The edit of whoever did it is still there if you want to re-flag or if the staff wants to review it.
I think they only send emails to the librarians. But an answer about that from the staff would be nice.
I did once receive an email for entering editors on books editions, I wish they have send me the books or edits where they have noticed this happening, as I might have not known they are editors (or it might that I just haven't removed them, often editors are entered with the authors names without being distinguished)
I still wonder which are the books I got and if they got corrected.
If you have questions about something you have flagged, please use the Contact Us link on the Help page.
However, as a general rule, it is ok to fix an incorrect edit before flagging. Except in the case where there is an edit war in process -- in that case, please ONLY flag.

Librarians have no control over Goodreads Author status. If you have questions about that, you'll need to use the Contact Us link on the Help page.

Thanks,
Sara B. Gauldin

You can set it as the default edition following this instructions: https://www.goodreads.com/help#defaul...
