I know she wants to be seen as "compassionate" but I'm just really irritated with her most of the time. She wants to promote justice, but she isn't fair to Maxon or Aspen. That thing in the woods and how that girl was carrying books.. is it possible that the group that tears apart the palace looking for something is just looking for forbidden books? (view spoiler)[ This book was very frustrating, if only because I support the Maxon side of the love triangle instead of the Aspen side. I also didn't like the fact that America was so indecisive. I liked the other aspects of it though. The random rebel attacks were some of my favorite parts and I loved the reception. Plus, America proved she got guts. (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[ I don't think this was as strong as the first book America's indecisiveness drove me nuts i think she is being a hypocrite she wants them both just like Maxon is hedging his bets. The random attacks do liven the story up but how the hell do they get into the palace before they are detected that would not happen if the place is guarded properly. As for all the little things that were mentioned and then America would say she was not going to do anything about it eg: the note she picked up in the hallway where the guard "Aspen" would have been stationed only to put it back and forget it for the rest of the book. That sort of thing frustrated me because its so obvious they are going to bring it into play in another book but i felt it was done so clumsily. (hide spoiler)]
