Derek (raistlinsghost) | 81 comments I'm at Chapter 8, a little over 2 hours in and I am enjoying the book so far. I wanted to find out if anyone else who is listening to the audio book is distracted by the use of the dual narrators? Maybe its just me but I'm not clear on the artistic choice to have 2 different people reading different parts of the same story. I just get into one's voice and pacing and then have to switch to another's voice and pacing. I feel like I did when my parents divorced and they took turns reading the same book to me. I think its distracting me from an otherwise good story (so far). And no offense intended to fans of either narrator. I've been a fan of Wheaton's since he was on TNG, so don't go trampling my lawn over that one.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Name Less | 16 comments It becomes a lot better once Brair and Zeke are separate. Their characters fit the voice actors quite well and I fell into each chapter easily enough—but it is only my first audio book.

Allison Poppe | 4 comments The only time I skipped a beat with it was near the end when some characters start to cross between the narrators. It just takes half a second to realize a new voice is really an old one, but it never took me out of the experience.

Deon (noed) | 67 comments I thought it was great, myself. I liked the different flavors, since they were for a huge part of the book two stories. What I did not like at all was when Zeke was being read, near the end, by Kate Reading. I kept telling myself "pretend he had a turning point, and this is his 'I'm a man now' voice", but I just wanted Wil to come back. He really won me over with the Princess' voice :D

Jim | 14 comments I don't mind either. it's weird hearing Kate as Zeke though.

Jeremiah Goodman | 11 comments I'm really enjoying the narration. The flip startled me more than it ought to the first time. I do like that Kate Reading sometimes sounds a bit like Stockard Channing.

Derek (raistlinsghost) | 81 comments OK so I'm done the book now and the narrator switching wasn't as bad as it started out as. Or maybe I just finally accepted the divorce and moved on.
