Hello friends, I hope nobody minds me putting this here as its not related to our beloved Fairytail Saga.

For those who don't know, my hubby and I are kitchen manufacturers and we run our own business. I've recently come to realise, whilst developing our website that our logo is in desperate need of a re-vamp. Soooo I wonder if you lovely people would mind giving me your opinions on the following Logo's? (assuming I can get this right)

Ignore the back ground colours. They are just there for me to visualize our website background colour behind the Logo. Our website is to be black, Charcoal or warm grey

Howard Parsons (howardparsons) | 234 comments I'd say the alternative Design 3. It seems to be "Cleaner" than the others.

BTW, my father-in_law & mother-in-law were in the kitchen cabinet business for decades. They designed many a kitchen over that time.

Thanks Howard, I hear what you are saying.. The wash of colours were added to the others because I wanted buttons etc in the website to tie into the logo. we are kinda known for the green tho so it has to stay but the others could go!

Did your inlaws enjoy it? My husband is over it! Well the business owners portion anyway. Any job becomes a chore over time (unlike writing I assume) but owning a business takes so much time from our family life and the added stress takes its toll on us all

Howard Parsons (howardparsons) | 234 comments My father-in-law was did pretty big business in New Jersey - mainly apartment complexes. When my mother-in-law took over after his death, it was still apartments but she moved more into individual homes - new & renovations.

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) I like third or fourth. From a branding perspective, probably the 4th because anyone 'skimming' for home reno will be drawn to house logo.

WE own a business making roof trusses and wall frames and it's the pits. I hate it. This went from being the wealthiest town in Australia to one of the most hard-up in the 4 years since we took over the contract and if my books don't sell soon I might have to *Gasp* get an actual job.

Now let's not be rash and go out and get a job... We would miss you :) Are you where the mines are? we have a lot of guys who do the fly in two weeks fly out two weeks here. The building industry is a cut throat world! I hope business picks up for you soon!

Do you think the house looks kitcheny tho and not implying home building? A friend says that she can see a kitchen bench with a microwave on top but then you don't want to know what she can see in an ink blob ;)

message 7: by S.K. (new)

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) UMMM....no I don't see a bench! Your friend has an awesome imagination though! Like I said, both are good.

Yes Mackay is the hub of the mining world. Rent here is extreme. Everything is. Apparently it's on-par with New York City, according to an article that came out a few years ago. But it's dropped a bit since.

Thanks Marie, What a mixed bag of opinions!

Is that $1800 a month?

message 9: by S.K. (new)

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) My house has 4 rooms, an office and 2 baths and is pretty new and rents for $750 a week. A one bedroom apartment looking like a torture chamber about $300.

OMG!! I thought Sydney was bad. Here that would get you a new 4 beda right on the beach

message 11: by S.K. (new)

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) Mine is in the heart of suburbia

message 12: by S.K. (new)

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) Mum had a housing commission house 1/2 a block away from Ko Huna (The Seaview) Canefields across the street, beach 150 metre walk away. She paid $35 a week, lol! Now they're trying to sell it (she moved out after 25 years this year) for $750,000 for a 3 bedroom/one bath carport with fluro lights and bare floors. Lol!

Wow, we rented a year while we were building. A brand new 4 bed, 2 bath, double garage $300. Admittedly it was in suburbia but still less than 10min drive to beach

message 15: by S.K. (new)

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) If you zoom in where it says Av Flor reserve you can see koHuna on the beach-all the bungalows, and mum's is on the corner of shoal point road and homesetad bay avenue with the reddish roof and big yard. That's how close I lived to The Seaview growing up

message 16: by S.K. (new)

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) Oh and you can see Needle island too ;) We call it blackrok. To our knowledge, it has no official name

message 17: by S.K. (new)

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) keep going up and you'll see Shoal Point (aka Oyster Point) and scroll up further to see Cape Hillsborough 'The Cape.' Go out to the ocean where it says Smith Island group and Bracken is the little one closest to the mainland, or go out from The resort to Keswick-that's where Ivyanne and Link 'do sex' and where I went camping last week:)
Scroll up a little further to see The Whitsunday's and Airlie Beach :) book 2 is set on Mandalay Bay :)

message 18: by S.K. (new)

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) Sorry not mandalay bay 'Funnel Bay' There's a big forest covered point on the left where I built Ivyanne's new house in my head. VERY expensive area.

message 19: by S.K. (new)

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) And when i say expensive-some of the houses on the developed side of that point go for a few billion

It looks gorgeous! Can you do satellite view from that link? I didn't see the usual icon!

I've always wanted to come and see where the dolphins come into shore to be fed

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) yeah

I think I've been on a day trip to Green Island! Do that have a reptile park on there? Big Croc enclosure?

message 24: by S.K. (new)

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) Have you been up here before jen?
And no Green island is just a lump with a house on it :)

Jen | 403 comments Mod
Oh, there must be another one off the coast of cairns because I'm sure it was called Green island! We stayed in Cairns in March 2007 I think it was... Too long ago. We were lucky we got out just before a cyclone hit

message 26: by S.K. (new)

S.K. Munt (wordwhisperer) yikes!
