Finished The House of Doctor Dee by Peter Ackroyd and Señor Vivo and the Coca Lord by Louis de Bernières.
Love, Entrails, Glory, Execution, Nobility, Destiny
All that spells: Legend by David Gemmell.
Fun stuff indeed.

Not what I usually read but I really liked these stories. I think The Room in the Dragon Volant was my favorite because the end was so unexpected.

Perhaps my mind is simply too literal to be a fan of magical realism tales and therefore really appreciate this but I still found it a remarkably original and imaginative piece of writing which deserves to be on the 1001 list.

En av de bästa svenska böcker som skrivits. Älskar den!
One of the best swedish books ever written. I love it!

Waiting for Spring from the public library (not on list). I'm going to finish this four-part series.

I just read Moll Flanders, too! I was delighted. It's a page-turner (or was for me).

Does anyone have a list of all the books on this list that use stream of consciousness? I can't stand it and would love to have a list of them, so I could read them now and get them over with! I know about this one and A Girl is a Half-formed Thing. Any others???
Excellent question and no, we do not currently have a list. However, I have started a discussion on the topic of Stream of Consciousness Novels in the Genres, Themes, and Topics folder so we can get a list started. It can be found at Genres, Themes, and Topics -- Stream of Consciousness Novels.
Post your suggestions there.

The Autumn of the Patriarch (by Gabriel Garcia Marquez) is more or less, but more the writer's stream of consciousness than the character's. A challenging read. Most of Virginia Woolf's are somewhat in that style, esp The Waves.

I just read "The Fall of the House of Usher, and the Pit and the Pendulum". Both amazing stories when consider the quantity of horror is so few words.

This is a complex story that the reader has to invest in to but it is also a beautiful piece of writing and one that I will certainly remember.
