Bruce (brucearrington) The Invention of Hugo Cabret was a cool read.

E.S. Ivy (esivy) | 133 comments I've been on a history kick lately and I haven't read any middle grade. I've got a stack of my kids required reading from school that I need to check out - but I'm not looking forward to it! That's what's up next.

M.G. King (mgking) | 727 comments My first foray into steampunk -- I read Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld. Very imaginative world-building and some compelling characters. I will definitely be looking for the sequel!

Cheryl (cherylllr) Not a great month for me & MG. I did enjoy A Summer of Sundays but I don't think it was amazing.

Shannon Hitchcock (shannonspicks) | 5 comments I just read THE LAURA LINE by Crystal Allen. It's a contemporary MG, but with a historical fiction subplot. I reviewed it here on Goodreads if anybody is interested and I also blogged about it: http://shannonhitchcockwriter.blogspo...

I read George's Marvelous Medicine to my nephews. Love Roald Dahl, I think his books are great for kids transitioning from picture books to chapter books.
George's Marvelous Medicine + The Twits + The BFG by Roald Dahl

Debbie (hollyshort) My favorite September read was The Wells Bequest by Polly Shulman.

That reminds me, a couple of months ago I read Etiquette and Espionage

Etiquette & Espionage (Finishing School, #1) by Gail Carriger after reading a review for it on reads4tweens.com. I loved it! But, I couldn't tempt my daughters to read it.

V.K. Finnish | 77 comments I've been better about reading lately, huzzah! In Sept, I read Middleworld, which I really enjoyed because I like mythology and well-done characters.

Here's my review on Goodreads:

Melissa My daughter and I read 2 books together in October You're a Bad Man, Mr Gum! by Andy Stanton and we also decided to reread her Junie B Jones books together as she decided if they are staying on her shelf or moving to a new reader to enjoy so we read Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus (Junie B. Jones, #1) by Barbara Park
