Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I wish we could subscribe to these threads. I'd love to be able to look at these great suggestions later when I can get some new books.

Jennifer (entropyrising) | 2 comments I've been alternating between the Sookie Stackhouse series and the Anita Blake series for several months now. I just finished "Dead in the Family", "A Touch of Dead" and "Flirt" (Anita Blake). I love both series, but prefer the Sookie Stackhouse series of the two. I'm currently looking for a new series to delve into; something in the same genre. I love stories with strong female characters (and female writers).

I noticed that there haven't been any new posts on this topic in a while, so I thought I'd ask for more recent suggestions, and I will also go back through the thread for suggestions. Thanks for your help!

Julia | 58 comments What Christie said about Outlander, though not at all the same genre.

Same genre, try:
Moon Called about Mercy Thompson by Patricia Briggs.
Summon the Keeper by Tanya Huff. Also her Blood Price.
Magic Strikes and or On the Edge by Ilona Andrews.
Kelly Armstrong's Women and Men of the Otherworld series is great and starts with Bitten.
