I tried it a couple times and learned the hard way it can be a disaster if you don't make sure you're both writing/reading in the same genre. One of my 'review buddies' actually returned the book for refund, and told me later she only reads fantasy and romance, not Cozy Mystery stuff.

I've had the same issue come up regarding genres, though I'm one of the people who is picky. There's just so much out there I haven't read yet in the genres I enjoy!
