I've been wanting to read this for forever! I kinda stayed away from it because I've not been liking Fantasy lately but heard too many good things about this to not.. Started earlier.

Chapter 11- I'm liking this so far.. (view spoiler)[ I appreciate that magic and witches are known to exist and it's less about her realizing what she is and more about living her life as a witch. I like that she's in a school with a bunch of others like herself... very Harry Potter. I find it refreshing. Nothing too crazy or shocking as of yet but we'll see where the story goes. Archer seems interesting and the fact that he's dating the God awful Elodie should make for some good drama. (hide spoiler)]

The beginning is so-so thus far. A bit corny but it is fast paced which is nice with some of the other books I am also reading.

Hangings. people on crosses, guillotine deaths, heads on spikes, etc. If in real life we can handle seeing images in videos then I would expect the same of book characters. Not saying it isn't disturbing but I remember seeing some pretty horrific, even stomach churning images and videos in history class and no one reacted the way most of the students in the book did.This was ultimately no different.
