I'm good with either dates!!I prefer x chapters a day + discussion of those.. But if you guys prefer the other option, it's okay :)

That's the one I prefer as well.
There are 42 chapters. We could do six a day and be done in a week, or eight and be done in 5 days (with 2 extra that last day). Or something else?
I am super flexible! I had already started it when I read your post but I will jump in when you reach where I am at!
Sounds good :)Waiting to hear from Becca on a start date then, and I think we are good to go.
I am really excited. I have been wanting to read this series forever.
Will you guys be up for the other two after?
Me too! I have read the 0.5 book and I thought it was so intriguing! I'm up for the rest of the series :)
Yes I would love to read the 2 following. I need a decent warning. I usually request books from my library and I don't always get them right away. But I would absolutely love too!

Becca wrote: "Sunday would be better because I work all day sat and I like 6 a day"Sure, Sounds good. Sunday to Sunday - 6 a day.
I am so excited. :D
Thanks David! I started is as you know but I am going to slow up so I can be able to gush and talk about it along the way!
Hehe you're welcome ;) Gush and talk all you want, I'll sit back and enjoy watching you fall in love with this series too!
I can't get my hands on a copy this week, but I look forward to see what you all think of it (Alyssia)!
David, I think you would like
...Leigh and I read it a couple of weeks ago and it seems like it would be up your ally - we both gave it 5 stars :)

Well so far so good! I obviously am not going to say anything about it but I am already liking it. Can't wait for everyone to read it and see what they think!
I cannot wait for Sunday..I also need to request from my library.. Hopefully they have it. Even though it is the main library of Denmark they are a bit behind on books :p

Sannie wrote: "Okay, the writing style is annoying me. I need to get used to it."The writing is annoying but you get used to it and it has to be this way to fit.
Yeah I had the same problem when I was starting it. I got used to it semi quickly. Can't wait to see how it ties the book together.
Sannie wrote: "Okay, the writing style is annoying me. I need to get used to it."Try to keep an open mind! Things that are different need to be given a chance...in this case, Ness's creative choices ended up being perfect for the world he created, in my opinion :)
It started off slow for me. But as I went along it speeds up! I do really like the concept of hearing thoughts and how that's a bunch of noise. I think it will definitely turn into something interesting as it goes. I think either tomorrow or the next day is when I can pick back up reading it.

Yeah David I think so too! It seems like there are places to go with that concept! Im excited about it! :-)
I'm about 10 chapters in, will catch up to our goal after I get some grading done.I like it so far. I wish I hadn't read the .5 book - I feel like having that much insight into "the girl" is really not helping me stay with the MC.
I don't mind the writing much. It took some getting used to, but it's phonetics for the most part. I hate books with tons of new words AND different spellings - this hasn't been so bad.
The Noise is fabulous. I love the commentary on identity. I am looking forward to more on identity, and, I'm guessing gender?
Oh. Um, are Ben and Cillian partners, or friends? I was having a really hard time deciding. Anyone have vibes any particular way? David, you've read the whole thing: do we ever find out?
I kept expecting more overt homosexual activity in a town comprised solely of men.
Yes I was also curious about Ben and Cillian's relationship. I didn't really get a feeling. But maybe the feeling is just that it has made us curious about it. Hopefully that gets answered!
Yeah, I kept feeling they would rape Todd when he became a man! (My American literature teacher has totally ruined me with sexual points in literature... I see it everywhere!) And I think they are gay. A town where no woman have been in years? Some has gone gay for the touch, to feel loved. And nothing's wrong with that. I just think their urges are too strong.
And honestly, the further I get, the more I see the possibility.I am terrified of what /actually/ happened to the women.
David wrote: "On Ben and Cilian's relationship: [spoilers removed]"Thanks David.
I have a weakness for adorable gay couples, so I had to ask. :)

Hehe, well, it's not clear so you can definitely think of them how ever you want!
Sannie wrote: "Me too :/ and why they want viola"rape? sacrifice? dancing naked in the streets?
What I don't understand after today's section is why the (view spoiler) I look forward to the explanation.
How are the rest of you doing? Do we need to alter the pace?
Yes! I was also wondering the same thing! I'm fine with the pace but if I need to slow down or speed up i will! I'm Halfway through today's chapters. I will check back then!

Do you guys want to start on Saturday or Sunday?
Do you want to set a pace (__ chapters/day + discuss) or just read along and post behind spoilers?
What do you think?
