Even though I have not gotten started reading the story yet, it is already the coolest book I have seen by far - filled with notes in different colours in the margins, as well as postcards, pictures and letters - even a map on a paper napkin - tucked in between the pages. It's brand new, but somehow already smells like an old library book.

It reminds me a lot of my late grandmother, who used to send us letters in the post, written on whatever scraps she had on hand - notepads nicked from the doctor's office, napkins, postcards, scraps of wrapping paper. She also gifted me books with little notes written to me in pencil.

I can't wait to get started on this!

Anyway, Shadow and Bone popped up when I was pre-ordering another book (The Shamanic Bones of Zen: Revealing the Ancestral Spirit and Mystical Heart of a Sacred Tradition, it looked interesting, and my birthday is this month, so I figured what the hell, and ordered it. :-D

The last book I bought was The Sins of Our Fathers (The Expanse Book #9.5) by James S.A. Corey. It is a novella set after the final novel of the series. It gives the series a nice coda. I wish it was longer but appreciate what was written. I bought the e-book and read it in May 2022.

I was finally able to complete my leatherbound Sanderson collection today, I had not been able to get my hands on Warbreaker for a while, but I randomly checked today and it was avaialable! Definitely was not in my budget to purchase...
