My most recent purchase was Senlin Ascends as a Christmas present for my mother.
Before that it was in the summer for a long hospital stay with my daughter. I bought Nod (after an assistant at Waterstones sold me on it) and Fool's Quest.

Wayland wrote: "Clockwork Angels and Here, There Be Dragons while as at the conference with both those authors. Got 'em signed, and Owen does drawings, too."
I like buying books from authors who are present to tell me about it and then sign them. It's my weakness.

LOVE LOVE LOVE [book:The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society!
I remember sitting on my back porch reading it while my husband was mowing the lawn and I was bawling my eyes out, full on ugly-cry face. I think he was frightened.

Oh, and I also bought Lidia's Mastering the Art of Italian Cuisine: Everything You Need to Know to be a Great Italian Cook. We got a last minute chance to see Lidia Bastianich speak this week, so I got to buy the book and have her sign it! She was LOVELY and I could have listened to her speak about her childhood in Italy and cooking for DAYS on end!

I managed to go a few months without buying it but I keep looking at it and it keeps calling to me. I finally could no longer resist that call.

This week I should be receiving in the mail a lovely Valentine's book haul thanks to my husband:
Queen of the Darkness
Traitor's Blade
The Desert Spear
Tempting Danger
Daughter of the Forest

The Grim Company
(other genres)

Seven Forges
Malice
The Sentinel
Age of Myth (I already have the hardcover, but when it was available for $1.99 for Kindle I couldn't resist)

Sandman Slim
Age of Myth
The Fifth Season
The Rook
Hardcopy:
Infinite Jest
Now We Are Sick: An Anthology of Nasty Verse [Neil Gaiman and others!]
This Is Water: Some Thoughts, Delivered on a Significant Occasion, about Living a Compassionate Life
And I bought a couple copies of Ready Player One for my local library. They have a donation list/registry on Amazon and I like to buy a few books off of it for them now and again as a thank you. I use the library a lot so I like to give back when I can.

I just bought the hardcover for the same reason. 40 more episodes and I'm caught up on the podcast.
I bought Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson and The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco this week! Have been in a major reading slump recently and hoping to come up out of it soon!
I also have The Welcome to Night Vale novel on my shelf waiting to be read.
I've heard they've got a new one coming out called It Devours!: A Night Vale Novel.

Shinju by Laura Joh Rowland (a detective story set in feudal Japan)
A Causal Vacancy by JK Rowling (oddly enough I have never read the Harry Potter books but I have read her other books)

If you are still catching up on the podcast, the novel falls between episodes 75 and 76 and 76 gets a little spoilery.
Cecil is the voice of the audiobook. I think I'm going to alternate between text (for speed) and audio (for narration).

Thanks for the info - I'm on episode 50-something so will try to read the novel in the right place.
Thrawn by Timothy Zahn. Zahn is a great writer and helped relaunch interest in Star Wars between Return of the Jedi and just about everything that came afterwards.

Wayland I have that trilogy but have yet to read it. Read the Han solo trilogy and enjoyed it but have heard this one is much better.

I'm a huge Star Wars geek. I have an entire bookcase of Star Wars novels.

Happy Birthday. Great haul but I hate the US name for Rivers of London. Midnight Riot is such a bad name

I'm still so sad that Mara Jade is now non-canon. :-(

Agreed. I dislike the Star Wars reboot only slightly less than the DC Comics one. I think both were mistakes and dis-services to fans.

I got this too, but haven't read it yet.

Honestly, I was never a big fan of her character.
