I get sent so many books that I don't buy many.

My most recent purchase was Senlin Ascends as a Christmas present for my mother.

Before that it was in the summer for a long hospital stay with my daughter. I bought Nod (after an assistant at Waterstones sold me on it) and Fool's Quest.

I really liked fools quest. Thought it was more up-tempo and overall a better book then the first (although the first book is still great). I have just bought Tigana.

I just bought Snow Crash. I rarely ever buy books anymore, but there is this really cool independent bookstore down the street from us, and I have a strong urge to support them and keep them in business! I loved Seveneves so I have high hopes for Snow Crash.

Oh, and I also bought Lidia's Mastering the Art of Italian Cuisine: Everything You Need to Know to be a Great Italian Cook. We got a last minute chance to see Lidia Bastianich speak this week, so I got to buy the book and have her sign it! She was LOVELY and I could have listened to her speak about her childhood in Italy and cooking for DAYS on end!

If you are still catching up on the podcast, the novel falls between episodes 75 and 76 and 76 gets a little spoilery.

Cecil is the voice of the audiobook. I think I'm going to alternate between text (for speed) and audio (for narration).

Thrawn by Timothy Zahn. Zahn is a great writer and helped relaunch interest in Star Wars between Return of the Jedi and just about everything that came afterwards.

Agreed. I dislike the Star Wars reboot only slightly less than the DC Comics one. I think both were mistakes and dis-services to fans.
