The last book I bought was...
I would say to start with Wool, after I read it I had to read the entire trilogy back to back. It had short chapters that always leave you wanting to read just a little more and becomes very difficult to put down. :) I hope you enjoy it as much as I did
Paul have you at all seen the graphic novel they made of Wool? I don't really read them and don't own it but skimmed through it in the book store once, it was interesting to compare my vision of the silos to the illustrators.

I'm definitely going to read Wool but I'm waiting until the Summer Reading Program starts at my library next week. You get free things after reading so many books. (As in you get more books and gift cards to local businesses, including my favorite coffee shop.) I have an entire list made out for optimum reading, everything that is less than 350 pages is to be read. Since Wool is short it is at the top of the list!

I got the Omnibus of the graphic novel a few weeks ago . Same reason , curiosity about how different I imagined the characters

Wool is definitely one I want to read as well! So many books...so little time!!

Well I bought Sandersons The Rithmatist today, Philip K Dicks The Worlds Jones Made , Edgar Rice Burroughs John Carter of Mars and a book called The First Murder , a novel written by a few authors .

The second book isn't so good, basically Crichton tried to cash in on the success of the film by reviving a previously dead character... not sure how that worked ;)

Haha I would normally agree with you but we take this vacation every year and the point of the trip is to sit on the beach doing as little as possible for a week and my mother-in-law, who is also a huge bookworm, will sit with me and we just read away. Not to mention its a 12 hour drive both ways so I have a lot of time to sit in the passenger seat and read and read. If I was going anywhere else I wouldn't take it because I wouldn't want my nose stuck in a book the whole time.
Lisa, what do you think of Jurassic Park so far? :) I loved the book, but having recently re-watched all the films and Jurassic World makes me want to re-read it!

Oh, and The Martian was one of my favorite books last year. Really good pick for a vacation read!
Very recently bought the Han Solo and Thrawn Trilogies, figure I will knock then off in between books this year to get me (even more so) into the mood for Star Wars: The Force Awakens later this year.

*Gasp I was just looking at this book yesterday and really wanted to pick it up but I didn't have the money. It's definitely on my list to buy soon though! I only recently heard about it all and I would like to watch the show but of course, gotta read the book first. Let us know how you like it!
I read it twice and it was worth it both times. It starts slowly but its so wonderfully written.

Its just one of those books Lisa. It works on several levels, the best of Fantasy and a good 18th century English Story.

Negative reviews I have seen are BIZARRE. "This book is long." Or, "This book's writing style is boring, Victorian-esque!"
Uh, that's cool, you don't have to like those aspects of it...but you could have avoided reading it knowing you dislike those things. It was not a hidden surprise LOL It is clearly long, and a single page glance will tell you the style.
Anyway, is the show any good? I missed the first episode and it doesn't seem to be on Hulu! Grrr.
Its pretty much like the reviews by people tearing fantasy books apart because they have magic or dragons.

It should be available through OnDemand. At least I hope so since I forgot to set the dvr.

Hopefully! I just checked and I do have BBC America OnDemand, and there is a selection of "Jonathan Strange". But so far it is just 4 different 1-2 min previews and behind the scenes stuff. Other shows, like Orphan Black have full episodes.
It's been a few days, I wonder what they are waiting for :/ Maybe it uploads after a week, and I will always be a week behind.

I checked where I live (Texas) and the episode was available OnDemand so if it's still not where you are then I imagine it will be soon.

American Gods is a great book Lisa

Little bit of shopping today and I got Words of Radiance in paperback for 5 euro new (combined version) and The Magician our monthly reas as a clothbound edition for 10 euro . Not bad.
I found Crown of Vengeance at the dollar store yesterday. I've never read anything by Mercedes Lackey or Jim Malloy but for $1 I'll give it a whirl.

Just bought The Emperors Blades by Brian Stavely. Will be starting it as soon as I finish Queen of Fire
