Was it just me, or did you expect a different Vlad?

Gabriela Araujo Hello, people.

So, I'm currently reading Twice Tempted and I decided to open this discussion to know if the same thing that happened to me when I started the trilogy, happened to you.

After reading Night Huntress, Spade's and Mencheres' books, I was so excited for Vlad's. Even though Bones has my heart, while I read NH I actually thought that he had the potential to dispute with Bones. Then, when I read the book, I was kind of disappointed.

First: why is Vlad trilogy told by Leila's point of view? I mean, I like her and all, but Vlad was so misterious and secretive in Night Huntress that I was looking foward to getting to know him better. And it didn't happen.

Second: maybe because of the first, but... Vlad was not exactly who I thought him to be, even though I cannot put my finger on why. I stil love him, but his book unfortunately didn't match my expectations.

Let me know what you think :)

MJ I quite liked the books.
You couldn´t really know how Vlad was from the previous books. It still has some kind of mystery that makes him attractive.
What I dislike of this book is that is like a chapter of a whole book, not a book in itself.

Pam I loved Vlad just the way he was. I think Vlad will come out more in the next book. I emailed Ms. Frost about the third and it should be long now. I loved the series.

Laura i would have liked it to be in Vlads point of view, or even both of their views, but i still enjoyed the books, and im excited for the 3rd book

Bookfanatic I didn't really see any inconsistencies between the Night Huntress Vlad and the Vlad in Once Burned. He still seemed like the sexy, very lethal, smart ass master vamp that he is. I actually thought he was much darker than I expected him to be! I don't know why I thought that. It's not like he would ever compose a poem or bring flowers for his lady, but the whole torture in the dungeons threw me for a loop.

I got the feeling he seemed darker too,
but like I said, I can't put my finger on why
he seems different to me. Not in a bad way really,
but different nonetheless. I wouldn't even call it inconsistence, but there is something.

I guess it has to do with the fact that actually,
we only read Leila's thoughts and perceptions about him. I'd prefer if the books were in his point of view, really, it would be a lot more interesting.

Bookfanatic I agree that the first person POV is frustrating. And the next book I heard is all from her POV again. Ugh!

NanaV I was very disappointed with the book. He wasn't the Vlad that would piss Bones off.

I think its BECAUSE of Leila's POV that Vlad still has the allure of mystery AND because of Leila's ability to read possessions we get to know Vlad even better.

I thoroughly enjoyed the series, especially book one. It reminded me of Cat and Bones series! It reminded me why I love NH series so much!

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* I don't think I'd want to be in his head anyway. I liked him better when shown in the Cat and Bones main series. I like single point of view from the woman's viewpoint anyway, so that didn't bother me.

Daniela good point Erin
