He views criticism as a hate crime.
He accused me of being anti-gay because I don't like any form of sexual content in my reading material.

WTF is wrong with people that they think they are so spectacular that the entire human race should be remade in their own image? Why can't people be allowed to have their own tastes and beliefs without constant badgering? How does anyone benefit from this type of fascism?
Fuck Robert Dunbar and his minions of lickspittles.......just fuck 'em.

There are a few refugees from that group here, Holly. Nothing you said above comes as a surprise to me. God forbid you mention that you read an occasional zombie book over there. Or even worse-question anyone on their views. Because you should just fall in line and agree, always.

I've never read it either; mostly because a friend of mine found it offensive and insulting, she just hated it.

To each their own, as long as they don't beat everyone else over the head with it.
Anyone else notice that this seems to be the tactic du jour on the Internet lately?

Oh well, I probably deserve the censure of complete strangers on the internet for insisting on having a mind of my own. I just won't let them know that I will go on having a mind of my own and living a pretty happy and somewhat normal life without ever sparing them another thought.......they would be SO crushed. tee hee

What gets me is that as a gay man he must have dealt with a lot of small minded attitudes. I would have thought that as such, he might have more of an open mind himself. I guess not.

Did you? I never knew that.
Randolph, I think your blog post might have been how we originally "met". I came across it somewhere and contacted you about a similar experience that I had with the LD group.

Did you? I never knew that.
Randolph, I think..."
I did. He started slandering me to other members, even though he only threw me out for refusing to read his book for the group read, so I reported him to GR.

Another novel by Harper Lee, entitled _Go Set A Watchman_, is slated to be published this July:

As for 'who cares who wrote it'. So, you wouldn't be bothered if it turns out that one of the Big Five was making a mint off of a ghost written deception, eh?
I take your point about the actual 'quality' of the work, but there are other issues of far more concern in this case.

The answer to that would be "no".
If Harper wrote it and didn't want it published, her wishes should be respected and I won't have anything to do with it. I'm against grave robbing and elder abuse.
If she did write it and gave permission, in compos mentis, I will probably read it somewhere along the line.
Who are the Monkees?

Nope.
I'm a heavy metal fan.

Haha, Ozzy too! :)
